Best No2 keeper in the world. Deserves a shot at being the main man. Am sure he’ll get a warm welcome whenever he returns to Anfield
The only sticking point remains the transfer fee.
Otherwise it’s a good move for all three parties. Kelleher might want to wait for an Aston Villa bid too. As I hear Martinez might be moving.
More clubs coming in probably means more options for Kelleher and better fees for us.
Would be a good move for him, a well-run established PL side with the potential to push into the European spots at some stage. Much better than the Leeds links that were doing the rounds the other day.
Well, it was bound to happen eventually. I hope Liverpool manage to get him a good new club and get a decent fee in return. It goes under the radar that he’s a true success story of club’s academy, having won the league and both domestic cups.
I’m just baffled that no PL club thought he might have been worth the going rate for PL goalies, though. Hopefully that changes this summer.
He’s in the top 5 keepers in the PL right now.
The lack of clubs lining up probably comes from no club wanting to make a first move.
Aston Villa , Chelsea , Newcastle , Bournemouth, Brentford , Man City , Man United
All teams who are due a first choice keeper.
Brentford would be a very good move for him. He’s a goalie who enjoys playing with his feet as well, and it seems to me that Brentford’s way of playing football should suit him very well.
I’ll wish him well wherever he goes, apart when he’ll play against us of course.
Straight swap for Collins on? One Irish for another.
I would have thought he would have been useful for Bournemouth as well considering he would have been an upgrade over Kepa (who was pretty good this year in the league) and we’ve got reasonably good contacts with them.
Would be a good move for the lad.Should be first choice at a well run club,he could do a lot worse.
I think injuries with Alisson have made him reduce his ball passing tendencies slightly.
That’s probably one area where I’d miss Kelleher. His ability with the ball at his feet is pretty good.
A shame, but at 26, he’s no spring chicken and should be the first teamer, and deserves that.
Can only hope he gets a few offers (including from European clubs), and has options available, meaning we can also command a decent fee.
Yup I wish him all the best it’s going be hard for him to ever be number 1 here and yet he deserves to be number 1. He can be proud he played such a pivotal part in the title win this season.
Where others piss and moan about losing key players to injuries we lost our number one and our number two for the most part stepped up and made us hardly notice.
Fee estimations? Given the ridiculous palace offer last season, I’m worried but I’d have thought anything under £25m would be an Foff and hopefully we get closer to £35m or am I too optimistic?
Does anyone think if he would’ve been happy carrying on being Ali’s understudy until he left (for arguments sake let’s say he left once his contract expired), that eventually he would’ve had the chance to cement that #1 spot for himself? Or is there something else the club are seeing or rather not seeing from him to exclude him from those plans, like perhaps not commanding/vocal enough?
And lose out on some big money ? Not that money isn’t everything but keepers get better the more they play.
My brain first read this as “Straight swap for Collins John?”
Remember that guy? Collins John?
Or as stevie g would prefer, his brother phil.
He’s a level or two below Alisson. I don’t want to crap on him but there are aspects that mean he’s never going to be number 1 here.
