No no no…not another one…I don’t like change as it disrupts the flow of the team…I understand people move on…but this is all too fast…

Thought we’d get more for him. Really hope he does well though :ireland:

Ya. We should have done this with Nat Philips 4 seasons ago. Good luck lad.

Top lad. Mixed feelings on him leaving but he needs to go for his own career

Hopefully Mamardashvili is upto scratch.

There might be an element of Liverpool not wanting to sell to CL place rivals like Chelsea , Villa. Hopefully there’s a good sell on clause in place as well.

Does anyone think the fee is a bit on the light side for a goalkeeper of his quality?

If those add ons are more in the category of ā€˜makes 30 appearances’ rather than ā€˜wins Balon d’or’, I think it’s about right. I put Ā£25 in the Mikey’s Millions thread, but I was expecting a bit of a scramble for him.

They were discussing this on TS this morning.

Answer is yes.

Surprised a club involved in Europe hasn’t moved for him, maybe Brentford caught a few of them on their toes. Great move for him nonetheless.

If Frank the Brentford manager is keen on bringing him in… then no doubt he will be thrust forward as their number one.
Just hope the rumours of Frank taking over the reins from Ange at Spursy Spurs before next season are not true… For it might leave Kelleher, with an incoming manager that has his own ideas about the goalkeeping position

Good to hear that Frank the Postman from Bod finally got a better job.

Didn’t he said not that long ago that LFC is the best team in the world?

We turned down bigger money last year because his importance to the side was too great, even as a back up. Now we’ve made the move we want for our GK situation we are positioned to listen to offers and his contract situation means we are now taking less money than we’d have got last year.

Important context for when fans complain about FSG being too cheap to allow us to compete.

What bigger money?

We got £8.5m from Forest on deadline day of January 2024.

Pretty sure we would’ve sold if we got what we were looking for in normal circumstances with time to react.

At first glance, I was surprised at how low the fee was, but as someone else mentioned, Kelleher’s made less than 50 appearances in total for both club and country, and his contract expires in 2026. When he’s featured for us, Kelleher on the most part has shown exceptional quality, but a buying club would argue that a goalkeeper at 26 years of age having made less than 50 games with one year left on his deal doesn’t warrant a higher fee.

A 20% sell on fee would sweeten the deal and make the 18m look like a fair price all round. :crossed_fingers:

We put a prohibitively expensive fee on him precisely because we had little interest in selling him despite knowing there would be interest if he was priced correctly.
