Caoimhin Kelleher has officially joined Brentford.

“I’m buzzing, I’m really happy to be here.”

“I don’t think it was very difficult for me to leave [Liverpool]. I felt for my own career that the time was right for me to go, to be a no.1 and to play every week.

“I heard of some interest a number of weeks ago. Once I knew Brentford was in for me, it was definitely one I was really excited about and wanted to do as quickly as possible.

“I came down to meet the manager and some of the coaches.”

"They spoke to me about why they wanted me to be here and showed me around the training ground.

“It was interesting to see their point of view on why they wanted to sign me and how they think they can develop my game. It was impressive and I think the club’s a really good fit for me.

“I like the way the manager and the coaching staff go about their ways. It seems like a really close, tight knit, family club. They’ve got a really good track record of improving and developing players which is really what’s drawn me to the club.

“I obviously spoke to Nathan. He spoke really well about the whole club and it’s nice to know Sepp and Fábio as well. It’ll make it easier for me to settle in and be nice to have a few friendly faces."

Just hope there’s a sizable resale clause.

He might well become someone who’s too good for Brentford.

Brentford operate a slick business and approach (suits our club).

They announced Flekken was off, and within the hr announced they’d signed Kellher.

Good luck to him (except for when we come up against him). Great keeper, walks away with medals around his neck, and has a great career ahead of him.

I wish him well. It’s tough for keepers because there is only one position up for grabs and there is no telling when an opportunity will come.

It’s rather ironic, given some of the dodgy keepers we have had over the years that we have two top players at the same time.

Don’t think he got a league medal in 19/20.

According to transfermarkt he did.
Total of 7 medals as posted by @Livvy above.

CaoimhĂn Kelleher - Titles & achievements

1x Champions League winner
2x English Champion
1x Uefa Supercup winner
1x English FA Cup winner
2x English League Cup winner

Cool, didn’t think he got one because he made 0 league appearances.

It’s not listed on his Wikipedia page. Andy Lonergan doesn’t get a mention for 2019-20 either and he was a third choice keeper at the time.

It doesn’t matter. It’s still impressive for a young keeper, and he has been vital to winning those trophies.

Yeah usually I don’t like these strict differences between competitions.

I mean, there is no comparison how important he was for our league success in 24/25 to 19/20. That is very clear.

19/20 was still early in his time here and I remember it was more the following two seasons when he really made steps, with his first CL start, league start, then shining in the League Cup success, etc.

If you’re a senior member and you’re training with the team for the whole season, even if you make 0 appearances in a competition, I’d still make sure you get a medal (I think these days the club gets x amount and it’s up to the club how they “spread” them).

The Irish gloveman was also part of the matchday squad on seven occasions in the Premier League, while offering important understudy support in the goalkeeping ranks across the campaign.
He probably got the medal for being 7 times on matchday squads?

A success story for our academy, a top lad who did well when called upon to replace the world’s best. I wish him nothing but the best of luck - aside from when he’s playing against Liverpool. I’m sure he’ll always be getting a good reception at Anfield.
