Champions League 1/4 final and 1/2 final draw

So if we played this Real Madrid side over two legs four times, we would only qualify once?

If you say so.

I was livid when I saw that team put out by Bodger!

Do any of you think Chelsea is a strong contender for the final?
I am more worried about them than Man City. Tuchel has got his team very well organised and clicking together at the right time.

A good draw I thought.

The priority is for LFC to do as well as possible, and second to that is for City not to win it.

The three strongest sides, City, PSG and Bayern, are in the same side of the draw. Dortmund could yet give City a game, then City have either/or of last year’s finalists in the semis.

As we learnt in Kiev, Madrid are masters at this competition, so it won’t be easy for us, although with many of our boys having been in Kiev, the opportunity for revenge will hopefully give us an edge.

Presuming they beat Porto, meeting Chelsea in the semi would be tough given their progress and form. But I think being away for the second leg of the semi might actually help, as you know what the situation is re away goals after the first leg.

Could have been a bit better, but also a lot worse, and in any case, it will all depend who we have fit and available.

I hope Hendo is back for one of the CL legs.
I hope Ramos gets a groin or a testicle strain in the La Liga match so he can’t play the CL legs. i can’t stand that tosser!

I want Ramos playing.

Victory will be all the sweeter if he is on the pitch

Certainly whets the appetite. Didn’t want an English team. Didn’t really want Bayern Munich either. So far so good. Real Madrid having an iffy season, not unlike us in that regard, but both giants will fancy their chances against the other in Europe.

Bring it on. We can beat them and go through.

Then who? Probably Chelsea, but if they underestimate Porto they might come unstuck. But probably not. So I suspect Tuchel’s team will be waiting. Tough tough game. They are organized, possibly at the expense of a bit more oomph going forward. Our strikers will need to be on form.

Then the final, against? Who knows!

But one game at a time. Real Madrid. Lovely.

I kind of like this fire from Conceicao:

FC Porto manager, Sergio Conceicao: “We are glad we escaped the likes of Bayern and Man City. Chelsea are good side but they are no different from Juventus — being happy for the draw, we will stick to our usual style of play and eliminate them as we did to Juventus.”

EDIT: **There now appears some discrepancy whether he actually said this or not.

The wheels will have come off Tuchel’s cart before we need to meet them Maria

I wouldn’t have minded Chelsea in this round. I believe they are paper tigers.
