Championship and Football League

What on earth happened?

Wages too high for a club that failed to bounce back I’d assume

Only made 14 league apperances since Jan, so a bit over half the games if my calculations are correct. Plus, it is Jack Whilsire - he is a known knob.

Less than a decade ago he was hailed as the future of English football.

A little over an hour until today’s main event. Doing the maths this morning, it’s four years since I’ve been home to ugly, lovely Swansea. Time flies. Really wish I could be there today, but I’m feeling confident even if the fashionistas have finally abandoned us for yet another London club.

Come on, Swans! :swan: :swan: :swan:

The only interesting match today. I’ll be happy either way to be honest. May the best team win :slightly_smiling_face:

Swans concede a poor early pen. They have to settle down. They’re flying into every challenge.

It’s over. 2-0. Too big a deficit to overcome. Poor Swans.

Looks like they’ll be crying in the valley’s tonight…

Neither of these clubs would do anything next year in PL anyway. Swansea have a young squad and one striker, Ayew, who is in his 30s.

Brentford have a style that would allow them a punchers chance, but they’ll still likely be back in Championship football the year after.

Pretty good by Norwich to get straight up again. I suppose they will go down again, but their club is still in a very good era, where they lurk around promotion to the Prem and winning the Championship title and relegation from the Prem. If they some how manage a 2-3 seasons after each other in the Prem it would be better of course, but they are still in a decent period in time for them (and now I am talking about last 5 years etc.)

Brentford would be a bit charming if they went up, not the kind of name you associate with the Prem and for that reason it is kind of cool. It’s sports after all !

So, we could have 7 clubs from London or London’s greater area next season?

Underground league. :joy:

For sure. It’s nice to have a different club involved. Thomas Frank is a charming man and they play a high energy style.

Don’t think I can get behind Brentford. Nothing particularly against them, just nothing that interests me.

Would have preferred Bournemouth (as long as they overpaid for some of our fringe players) or Barnsley (even though they did us the last time they were up)

Swans the better side the second half just not able to do anything with the ball.

Well that will be that. Stupid challenge. Blood rush to the head and really dumb decision. Red card and no way back.

It’s hard to judge how well they will fare in the PL, I will say this, I think after about 13-14 teams there is still a lot of dross.

Still feel Bilic would have done a better job of keeping WBA up.

Farke has been there for a couple of years now and I think Norwich will be better this time as well.
