Championship and Football League

Fucking hell who is commenting on that. His tongue must be massive.

Also top bins… get in the bin.

That’s what we are obviously hoping to see develop more consistently with him - end product. He’s quick, strong, eternally aggressive and confident, takes people on for fun. He just doesn’t yet consistently get that end in a goal.

He’s a bit of an Adama Traore at the moment (minus the ridiculous physique of course) but if he can develop the consistency that Adama never could then he’ll be a phenomenal player one day.

Burnley have conceded 9 goals in 29 Championship games, 20 clean sheets.

Impressive that.

Is Parker just a promotion specialist?

And yet Burnley fans are deeply unhappy with Parker. After scoring 9 goals in the first two games of the season they’ve only scored 27 since then (with 5 coming in a win over Plymouth). 22 goals scored in 26 games.

If he gets them promoted, they will likely be better prepared (but much duller) than the recent trend of sides that tear the Championship apart, come up to the PL, and get absolutely pounded until they fire their manager and become boring defensive sides.

They are dull to watch.

Like really fucking awful. To be honest I’ve seen teams like that come up and they get destroyed as well.

If they came up they’d find it harder to score and that resolute defence would likely get cut to ribbons most weeks.

Although I expect Parker won’t be the manager even if they come up. He’s one manager who seems universally hated by the fanbase of everywhere he has been.

If you are playing that style in the Championship, it is often an indication that your talent base is a little thin.

Yup, even the Warnock and Dyche teams were usually tight at the back but quite free scoring.

I’ve fallen asleep during two of their games and they haven’t looked great in a couple of others I have watched.

Burnley would do well to get a McKenna when they do get promoted.

It’s clear that Ipswich is suffering from lack of personnel. Not tactics.

McKenna probably could do better with the Burnley side.

The side gripe for me with managers like McKenna is that they are only looking to play attacking football because they are looking to boost their rep.

Sort of like Ange really.

I have to say I find it odd that Leeds stuck with this goalie.

Leeds absolutely rocketed that last few minutes: 3 goals in 18 minutes, and 2 of those within 1 minute.

Oddly enough their last championship came in 19-20.

Trafford concedes a goal vs Cardiff, but Burnley still win. Was an incredible streak of clean sheets.

Two months later, only 2 more goals conceded.

11 conceded goals in 38 Championship games, 27 clean sheets.

Brilliant.

Leeds doing their best to throw it away it seems mind.
