Championship and Football League

Thank fuck Wrexham didn’t make the play offs, the nauseating narrative around them is at least quiet for a few months.

Sorry, yes. Harrogate lost to Barnet. Barrow were already down.

Yes, I had quite a bit of sympathy with them because their financial woes were made worse when we pulled the academy away from them, but it’s just a circus now. The football is rather secondary to the Disney show.

I think they had a chance if every chance went their way but wasn’t to be. Not sure we will see them again.

I find it sort of weird how Wrexham seems to catch more hate than City…

I would much prefer Wrexham than Millwall.

I usually cheer for a fresh face and Hull, Boro and Soton have all been up within the last 15. However not cheering for Millwall.

Soton seemed the most exciting team to watch play, Boro and Hull are ok.

Possibly go for Hull as Kumas plays sub cameos there.

Watford sack their 27th manager within 20 years.

That doesn’t include any caretakers.

Whereas Jim Ratcliffe sacked them en masse as soon as he got control of United.

Don’t much care about the outcome, but a playoff semifinal going into time added with it all to play for is pretty raw. One of Boro or Southampton is about to get a brutal ending to a season.

Winning Southampton goal in 116’ of extra time. The scenes must have been phenomenal.

Ohhh, don’t tell me that there is a possibility that the Saints playoff matches were meaningless.

I wonder if Hull go up without a final :joy:

Really questionable decision-making to let the match go forward under that cloud.

The only possible outcomes would have been to disqualify Southampton and give Middlesborough a bye, or sanction Southampton (fine or whatever) and allow the game to go ahead.

Those sanctions are still available, although it would be more controversial to disqualify Southampton after they won. I expect the authorities had hoped that Middlesborough would win.

Yeah, they were hoping the outcome would let them off the hook, but they really should have either required the decision before yesterday, or delayed both semi-finals (delaying the other to ensure fairness).

Problem Soton would appeal it.

I think Soton did it and admit it knowing that it puts the Championship in a problematic position.

Hope Hull win the tile, Soton is full of cnuts.

They can appeal it, but CAS has in the past resolved matters in 72 hours.

Didn’t we get found guilty of spying on Southampton once? Or was it someone else? I have this vague memory of one of our staff caught out spying on training sessions.

Probably getting confused with the million pounds we had to pay City for hacking into their system.

Don’t rememb er us ever getting caught doing it. But I remember Lampard got caught doing it when he was at Derby.

Also, we never hacked into City’s system. Their scouting department used to share log in details amongst themselves, and after we signed a few of their scouts, they found out the log in details never got changed
