I never thought Dom would make it but its these slight muscle injuries which always rule players out for weeks is the baffling bit.

Thiago had major hip surgery a bit different than a sligt muscle problem.

Thing is we saw a few players coming back slightly earlier than expected recently and they all ended up back out injured.
Assume we’ve flipped back to the cautious approach.
I’d rather that than lose all 3 for the season, Dom’s surprised me anyhow that looked like a bad hamstring and then he was back in 2 weeks.
Disappointed that Salah, Nunez and Dom couldn’t make the bench, but it’s the right selection.
I feel very meh about this game. I know it’s a cup final, but I don’t think that we are going to win, and I care more about the game at Forest.
Happy to be pleasantly surprised.
Sure we don’t have Mo and Darwin but the back 5 and our midfield are solid and with Diaz, Gakpo and Elliott attacking, we’ve got this.
Let the kids at them. Chelsea won’t know what hit them.

Agree completely that we should not rush players back from injury, even for a cup final.
But this constant denigration of the league cup is tedious.
