Iraola already confirmed that this travel/match is coming too soon for those who were out against City. I can see Frimpong coming in for Araujo. Maybe we’ll make another change or two (could be a good game for Nyoni, though Gravenberch probably starts, so maybe in for Mac), but I actually don’t see us rotating too much. Maybe with subs off the bench if we’re in the lead after an hour or so.
I hate saying this about a Liverpool player. But I hope Frimpong is gone in January and never starts for us again. He is dreadful. His attempts on Citys third goal was embarrassing.
We can’t afford not to beat opponents from the Austrian league, so we need to be as strong as possible – so please, no Frimpong, who doesn’t play for us or for the Dutch national team; there’s a reason for that.

Barcola and Wirtz because I wouldn’t have them anywhere near Brentford. Grav a no-brainer. Let’s see what Endo can offer. The quick turnaround for the Brentford game means we have to protect those likely to start there. Hopefully we can give minutes to Koumas, McConnell and Nyoni if things go well.
All 3 results possible here. Wouldn’t bet on any of them.
Ali
Frimpong Gomez VVD Kerkez
Nyoni Grav
Munoz Mac Barcola
Wirtz
Would look to get both Jacquet and Virgil some rest if possible, maybe a half each. Bring Nyoni in to the midfield, push Mac forward a bit and then setup the other three however you want. Couldn’t really ask for a better fixture to kick start the seasons of both Wirtz and Barcola.
The bile aimed at some of our players is honestly disheartening. This time, it’s apparently Frimpong the target. Honestly, lads, don’t you think that you can and should be better than that?
I am not aiming bile towards Frimpong personally, and frankly that term annoys me.
Surely it’s fair though to acknowledge that he really isn’t good enough to be a Liverpool player though? Seems a very good lad, popular with this teammates etc, but in honesty our performances have improved with him out of the team. I hope he is replaced as back up RB, and in honesty when Bradley returns he is down the pecking order again. There is no bile or rancour here, just a bit of honesty on my behalf.
