Listing players by their shirt numbers forces mental gymnastics at times. Particularly when they are players you rarely see or new ones.
This is a golden opportunity for Wirtz and Barcola to shine.

Well Koumas, Rio and Barcola which is a bit different from Lucky, Danns and whoever.
why is Kostas captain?
Surely it should go to Allison
I could be misremembering, but didn’t Iraola say something over the summer about not liking GKs as captains, when the subject of the vice captaincy came up?

That was explained at the beginning of the season.
I think it was more to do with the rules and it was explained that despite Allison being the vice captain it would be only in very rare cases he would have the captain’s band.
Very much linked to talking to refs if I remember.

Andoni Iraola has confirmed Alisson Becker, Joe Gomez and Dominik Szoboszlai will act as deputies to Van Dijk, and cover games in which the Dutchman does not feature.
However, Iraola also admitted practicality - and new Premier League rules - mean Alisson will not wear the armband in the months ahead.
"I explained to Alisson that it’s not possible that he wears the armband because with the new rules, I think there’s a big limitation if a ’keeper wears the armband.
“If something happens in the opposition box, the referee has to explain to the captains what’s happening, all the decisions.
“I had one season with Neto in Bournemouth and then you have to start every game to say a different player that can act as a captain, it’s not viable.
“I wanted him to feel that we value him. I’ve had enough time, and we will have more time to know each other, but I had to explain the decision about the armband to Ali because he’s a ’keeper and, unfortunately, they’re putting the rules in a way that there’s a lot of disadvantages to having a ’keeper as a captain."

i watched Lask play Celtic in Austria
the Celts should have beaten them,
but there biggest strength was the home crowd,
it was Lask’s 12th and 13th man,
need to silence the home support
I’ve only just finished work. I’m bloody knackered, but I am looking forward to this. A good few youngsters in the team and proper football. None of this Premier League bollocks.
COYR YNWA.
