Thats fake, right?
Kind of what I meant with “it’s insufficient anyway”, but yeah, looks like it. It’s not doing the rounds in serious accounts at least.
It would disgust me even more if they came up with an apology again, to be honest.
Well they are classed as two fouls they were soft and did they merit two yellows… no
Anyhow this is Linz.
I’m sure that Iraloa and his team will know the personnel, tactics and formation to work this game out (as long as the referee isn’t a ****).

When I find myself in times of trouble, Brother Commando comes to me, whispering words of wisdom…
Glad you’ve added the caveat as for 60 minutes on Sunday he did until twatty came along with Shrek in his ear.
We have to rest some players.
Mama
Gomez Araujo Virgil Tsimikas
Grav. Nyoni
Frimpong. Wirtz. Rio
Barcola
Listen… if Wirtz and Barcola cant dominate this game. And produce goals. We have a bigger problem than we thought.
Barcola to play up top to try to get him going
A bit of respite in a competition in which we can respect a bit of fair refereeing (fingers crossed!) before we go back to the cheating league.
We should be too good for this lot. There will be a reaction, as the players will be furious about what happened on Sunday. Be focused, give your all, and the three points will be there at the end.
One positive from the team that travelled is that Danns is in, so hopefully it means he’s back in training and might be available for selection soon if not now.
Liverpool travelling squad: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Kerkez, Wirtz, Mac Allister, Tsimikas, Munoz, Mamardashvili, Woodman, Barcola, Frimpong, Araujo, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Chambers, McConnell, Koumas, Ngumoha, Danns, Sonni-Lambie, Lucky.
Not only Danns. There are several youngsters involved. That will be a good experience for them. But yeah, it’s great to see him back.
Blow to Liverpool as 8 star names are missing…
Reads the article: Isak, Gakpo and Dom
Chiesa Endo, Leoni, Bradley and then I lost interest as we knew 5 of them wouldn’t be there.
Highlights of Iraola’s press conference (he made it eventually):
-
On team news, Iraola confirmed Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexander Isak, and Cody Gakpo have not travelled to Austria.
-
He added that the trio are “not far” but he could not confirm when they would return.
-
On other players needing to step up while those three are out, he said: “I think that is true, Cody, Alex and Dom are top scorers this season because they play more this season and now we don’t have them, so we need the other players to give us those numbers.”
-
On criticism of big-money signings Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola, the Spanish boss said: “They’ve had good games and bad games this season but we know their level and we are sure they’ll give us good performances.”
-
He also said the duo are players “I trust 100%”.
-
On making changes to his line-up, Iraola said this is a game “we want to win” and “it is always difficult to win in this competition”.
-
Although he added that “because there are some niggles” he may be forced into making changes to the side that lost to Manchester City at the weekend.
-
And on keeping his side fresh, he said: “We don’t have a lot of time to train. We have to prepare with some videos, tactics and the ball outside a little but we have to prioritise the freshness of the players.”
-
He added: “And especially playing four games in 10 days and we want to keep the legs in the game but I think in cases like Bradley, especially - the last one to arrive - the more he plays, the more connections with those around him and the better he’ll become.”
Just want to offer my tuppence on Frimpong, since he was discussed above. He came into a side last season that was all over the place, and he got injured too, which has not really been his pattern as he hasn’t had many.
Fast forward to this season. New manager, let’s see.
He played a couple and then Araujo displaced him from the side. Araujo is mostly a central defender, but it is true that he offers a lot more solidity at fullback than Frimpong, so no qualms there. Iraola’s team will evolve and improve, but we started the season shipping two goals a game for the first two, then we went with three clean sheets before playing the cheats.
So it was the right move to stick Araujo in there.
As things stand Frimpong is a squad man. If he gets the nod I will be cheering him on and hoping he does well for us.
My suspicion is he is better in a 352, but for the system we play we will have people ahead of Frimpong at both right back and right wing, so he will be a versatile squad man. As such he may well get the nod for this one and good luck to him if he does.
Bradley may prove to be a better long term solution, and I do like him, but his injury record has been very concerning.
Looks like Iraola has re-introduced a warm up or light training session at the opponent’s stadium. Because for a good few years now, since a certain point under Klopp, we would rather do it in Liverpool or maybe at a closed location away, but generally go straight to the hotel.
Liverpool: Alisson, Jacquet, Wirtz, Tsimikas, Barcola, Frimpong, Araujo, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Koumas, Ngumoha.
Subs: Mamardashvili, Woodman, Gomez, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Mac Allister, Munoz, Chambers, McConnell, Danns, Sonni-Lambie, Lucky.
Only one nominal center back on the pitch it seems… (ah I get it, it’s Araujo who will play the second CB role.)
Araujo & Jacquet.
Yeah, just realized that. ![]()
