From memory, he got a community service order.
It is how you approach refs, getting in refs faces is wrong and we are the least culpable amongst most prem teams.
Also managers should be able to call out refs after the game, as long as it isn’t done aggressively without impunity
Constantine Hatzidakis walking out prior to Chelsea Vrs Newcastle 2018. From what I can summon, he was linesman again on that day… the worrying thing is, and I am still trying to find an article I read yesterday, this guy lives in Chelsea and supports them…! If that is the case, maybe closer scrutiny needs to be focused not just on the referees background, but also the linesmen that officiate on home territory…!
Embarrasing!!
Howard Webb today complaining that referees don’t get treated well enough by managers - BBC of course use a picture of Klopp in the caption and top of the article talks about him waiting for charges about what he said in regards to Paul Tierney.
At no point does it mention that the performance of Tierney was one of the worst many people had ever seen in the Premier League. He almost seemed like he wanted players to get injured.
Saw the trial of the referee/VAR interaction being available on TV, definitely like the idea. Makes the thought process way clearer.
Won’t make a difference to me as I’ll have muted it and I assume on offsides they will go.
“Just trying to draw a line, bugger the laptops frozen err just say it’s onside”.
I saw that as well. It’s scandalous, as Klopp is surely one of the most respectful managers when it comes to respecting the rules of the game, and the people involved. He can be taken away in the emotion sometimes, but here, he gets depicted as some villain who is constantly disrespecting refs.
The article is a disgrace, as this ref association should be showed up as the bunch of incompetent twats they are.
It’s just a first step, but still a really big step forward. Beyond fan education, which I think will have close to zero impact, if its only impact is making refs know that they now cannot give a key decision if they dont have a good argument for doing so then games will be reffed better. “Im not sure, but I’ve already given a pen to Liverpool so I guess we’ve got to give this one” is not a defensible position but a decision process we know happens and likely be prevented in the future if this sort of review becomes a thing.
Im trying to think of the unintended consequences and I guess the major one is refs not giving something a LOT more often because its a lot easier to defend saying “I wasnt sure so I didnt give it” that presenting an argument for why you gave it that turns out to be wrong.
Nor will it make any difference to what happens during matchdays with regards to players and managers getting in the faces of officials, it’s a get out of a jail card for Webb to use only after an incident has sparked in the public eye.
With our fair play record to date, surely they should be thanking Jurgen for making the referees job easier each game… Not trying to hang, draw and quarter him…!
Exactly this, Jurgen wants to play the game in the right spirit and that shows through with the players.
That was such a bad challenge
Thats a red card challenge.
But Mings is an Ingurland international.
Don’t get given.
Have to post this here too.
Is there much of a difference between mings foul on Gakpo and Jotas foul on skipp
In terms of what the punishment should’ve been? No. All subjectiveness crap according to these refs though.
Every decision they get wrong, it’s because of subjectivity.
Every decision they get right, it’s due to the “laws of the game”
