'Clear and obvious wrong' Referee decisions - possible title decider

I think the Mings one on Gakpo wasn’t a case of just catching him, like Jota was. It looked like he went in dangerously from a long way off, and followed through to catch him on purpose.

Mings also knows if he gets the contact on the ball wrong, Gakpo is through on goal. So it’s a case of whatever you get on the ball, take the man on the follow through.

Definitely a red. But didn’t expect one, because you know. Refs.

i think the comentater mentioned that Gakpo ducked a bit, so it wasnt a red.

i never wanted to believe the darker theories about …motivations…so to say…

but its a bit hard to ignore it when thats just dismissed out of hand, and Jotas one is vilified…

took me back to the Mane on Ederson one…which at the time i thought Mane was unlucky ‘but these things happen’…now i look at that incident completely differently…

It’s a split second decision /thought for a player to go for the ball or not.Anyone who has played football at any level will have had many split second decisions to make and by the time we make them we’ve already began the action or not.Imo,Mings went for the ball without thinking of what could happen.Jotas was slightly different but both deserved red.I don’t believe either deliberately went to injure their opponent but they did and did so recklessly .

This is what p155es me off about refs. Anybody can mis-time a tackle and sometimes injure an opponent (although it can be difficult to tell how genuine that injury is with all the simulation in the modern game). You quite often see a yellow given for a mis-timed challenge, it might be that player’s first foul near the end of a match. But, how many times do you see players getting away with a tug on an arm or a pull back?
The clue’s in the name FFS it’s football not wrestling. IMO every tug or pull back should be a yellow. You can mis-time a tackle but you have to deliberately pull someone. :rage::nerd_face:

Totally agree and I have said the same many times before :clap::clap:

Agreed.

One you have to ask intention, the other it’s clear what the intention is.

Unfortunately it’s time to come back to this thread.

Draw vs Chelsea 1-1
Penalty not given.

Lost vs Spurs
We all know what happened.

Draw vs United 0-0
Penalty not given.

Draw vs Arsenal 1-1
Penalty not given.

Coincidence that it happens in the big games?

It seems many reds are relaxed about it because we are still in a title race but that can end very quick because we’re at the limit with injuries and the Africa and Asia Cup are starting soon.

For me I can’t take this shit anymore. We are being robbed for another PL title when we should be 6 points ahead of Arsenal and at least 8 ahead of City.

100%.

We are being cheated on.
Again.

Arsenal, Kavanagh and Coote as ref and VAR.
Burnley, Tierney and Hooper.
Newcastle, Taylor and Attwell.

If somebody asked me to draw up a list of those referees who I believed have a clear agenda against us then these 6 would be the first names written down. Every one of these cunts have a history of fucking us over with virtually nothing going our way. It’s way beyond co-incidence.

Draw against Brighton: red card not given.

I think red cards are not something I’d consider at all.

That was clear and obvious penalty yesterday as was the fuck up at Spurs.

Not sure about the Man Utd one.

As for Hooper probably just terrible he’s been involved in a number of crap decisions so far. The rest yeah.

Of course not, but we all know that by now.

You’ll be amazed how many people- Liverpool fans included- are still naive enough to believe that the league is not fixed.

Some people still believe that half the league isn’t taking PEDs either. Just lying to ourselves.

Seems to me the biggest issue is not giving penalties.
Doing this will only lead to players, some in particular will think they can do what they like. The handling in the Arsenal game is a case in point, anyone can argue that it was accidental, but if it leads to a goal,or stops one maybe the ref should err on the side of caution as it could easily alter the course of a season, through deliberate cheating, and that is not on!

I’ve perhaps been one of the naive ones. Certainly don’t believe there’s any widespread conspiracy. Would involve too many people to not have a whistleblower.

But I guess it only takes a couple of bent refs, covering us and City numerous times per season, when there’s only a couple of points in it at the end

The whole game is corrupt as fuck.
Not necessarily against us, but they pick an agenda and run with it.
Arsenal and Spurs seem to be the chosen ones this season.
