An extra Ā£15m means absolutely nothing to Bournemouth at this point.
The noise from the club prior to today has been exactly that. I have to assume the openness about him being on the way out indicates weāve got another incoming winger, be that Sarr, Minteh, or someone we donāt know about yet.

Unless an established player comes in who can play on the wing and at a push up front this makes no sense.
It has all the hall marks of the fumbled handling off the Diaz exit.

For all the faith Slot had in him, I think he particularly struggled in the slower pace of our football last season. He is strong, quick when he gets moving and has good goal scoring instinct, but I just donāt think he has the game breaking skill or acceleration forwards tend to need in styles that go from patient to explosion the way Slot seemingly envisioned. I suspect Marescaās ponderous football is going to pose similar problems for him so itās a move where I just donāt get any of the angles

Semenyo doesn;t have that instant acceleration either but heās doing okay at City. Cody did well at WC and so far this season because heās getting the service he needs and faster transitions. I agree that Slotball was a disaster for him and everyone else but once Iraola gets these players working in tandem and breaking like Bournemouth then we will see the best of Cody. If we sell him now it will rebound on us big time. City don;t want him because heās crap. They can see how to get the most out of him and they will.
Seriously, if this sale goes ahead with just three days left in the transfer season I will fucking despair of this club.

It hasnāt come out of no where. People close to the club have been speaking about us being ok with moving him this summer for about 18 months now. Itās difficult to make sense of it all but the likes of Pearce have been saying all summer that we want 2 wingers with the second being related to Cody leaving.

I think Cody was promised a regular starting spot back when Slot was here, and heās struggling to cope with Iraolaās demandsālike having to play on the left or the rightāand the Barcola transfer. Iām just speculating here, of course. Things have probably changed a lot for him since Slot left etc. And if he doesnāt want to face the competition for the spot, well, what can you do?
