I’ll support the national team at national level before it gets jingonistic but does anyone beyond the most nationalist have a clue what the U21s do?
I’d watch it if nothing else is on but that’s about it.

I thought McNeil played further forward? Usually the biggest threat for Burnley when I watch them.
He does but then that’s similar to how we would normally play Robertson. I reckon he’s got the skills and physical attributes to add defensive nous to his already very effective attacking ability.

You’re right, he is. But I reckon a winger under Dyche isn’t too far off a wing-back under Klopp 
He’s physically good, wins a good % of duels both in the air and on the ground, he’s quick and has a greater left foot on him (delivery into the box and long balls). He’s probably too good to want to come here though, given he’d likely be understudy to Robbo for the majority of games.
Oh I’m not doubting you as I have said he is the best player they have in terms of worth watching.

Also I ignored the part about being patriotic, in a world that had shifting borders for centuries because I was born on one patch of land doesn’t make me feel that patriotic as I said I’ve got a fair bit of Irish ancestry including living memory.

No one cares about a single U21 win, but consistently being in the big games at the various youth levels does set up the senior side well.
I agree, youth competitions are good for budding talents. But since Curtis is already playing with the senior team, don’t think it would be that beneficial for him.

I feel like we have a special talent on our hands with Curtis. I feel like it was with Trent Alexander-Arnold when him and Joe Gomez shared the RB slot between them for the season. By the end of the year he had developed to the point that he was recognised as a real top RB, good enough to go into the following season as our first choice. Jones may or may not be at that level by the end of this year but to me he’s proven he’s a top player in the making. Think, when we choose to set up with one, he should soon be our first choice attacking midfielder/number 10. But he doesn’t let us down on the defensive side when we set up with him as one of the 8s too.
Mentioned Barnes and especially Mount as ‘special talents’ when we where on TIA Forums still and I know they are older than Curtis but personally I’m not yet convinced about the ‘special’ with Curtis.
He earned his long term place in this team this season but in the next two seasons we’ll see if he has what it takes to be a clear starter at this club or if he’ll be some kind of an Isco at Real who never managed to earn the status of a starter.
Looking forward to see him without the problems we have this season.
Are England U21s already out of the EUROs?
Not surprising with Aidy Boothroyd as manager, more of the jobs of the boys types. Wasted years of our England youth teams potential.
Curtis played 19 and 25 minutes in the first two games. Think he is by far the most experienced player from that squad with PL and CL games under the belt.
Bet he’ll get a start I the final game which is meaningless anyway. 
The England set up have never trusted Jones, no idea why. Having Tom Davies, Emile Smith Rowe and Oliver Skipp ahead of him is bizarre.
Hope it stays that way, from a Liverpool perspective.
Apparently the last game isn’t meaningless but I can’t work out how with the math?
Anyhow Jones should have played the full game after the first one in which they created nothing, they created nothing again last night.
It’s worse than watching the first 11, I thought we had been last these last 3 months but some of these games are garbage
