Curtis JONES: 2020/21

In the starting XI against Croatia U21.

I want him to do well and boss it, but paradoxically I am happy when our players go under the radar, and perhaps aren’t even selected at international level, so long as they do the business for us.

I’m down on international football. It’s not the pinnacle. Games against San Marino? Come off it. That’s like an early round League Cup tie against the Dog and Duck where you play your kids and fringe people. But somehow you put an England shirt on them and it’s important? Nah.

Too much football these days from too many vested interests. I’m not quite in favor of binning off international football, but I am in favor or reigning it all in. It won’t happen, of course, not while there’s money to be made… so in the meantime, I’m happy if our boys are overlooked or on the fringes.

Was he selected for the previous games? I seem to recall that he was on the bench although England were awful. I hope he comes out of this game unscathed.

Will probably be okay tho

Had a brilliant shot from the inside left edge of the box, hit the bar. I’d like him more in that LCM position, so he can attack the goal even more. But I understand, the way our team functions with Salah playing so high, that our RCM is often the one with more licence to bomb forward and stretch the game.

Brewster did well.

Ah well he has the summer off.

Fought about 30 of there team and staff at the end

Didn’t see the whole thing, it was impossible, maybe there was provocation. But he reacted a bit like a brat. One of England’s coaching staff had to take him away.

Talk of racist abuse from their players aimed at Brewster and possibly others.

Brewster was rowing with there defenders the whole time he was in the pitch. Curtis was boiling up at his own team and opposition as England struggled to find the 2nd goal then when Croatia found it obviously he exploded. Curtis I’d say just more out of annoyance, Brewster possibly something could have been said.

It’s shocking England’s u21 side is out.

Curtis Jones is well out of it. The Leeds lad, Phillips, is coming along ok in midfield and he gets a call up for game with the senior team against Poland. Good for him.

Meanwhile, our superior player is with the U-21s and he’s barely used, even there?

England set up is a joke from top to bottom. You are well out of it Curtis lad.

Bish bosh. Didn’t see it, but good lad Curtis. Take some of that fire into the remainder of our season to go with your skills as a player. We are too nice sometimes. Jones can get stuck in for us. Starting with Ramos!

Wonder what was said there to ignite all of that. Young Curtis has to do much better controlling his emotions, he’s a Premier League player, but clearly there was a flashpoint. Cantwell was suggesting one of the Croatia players was making unsavory gestures toward Brewster.

Boss finish from Jones and nearly scored a banger earlier on in the game.

Boothroyd calling it an impossible job whilst being reluctant to pick the best players (Jones and Eze). Moron. He’s stealing a living.

Spot on about Boothroyd. I feel gutted, at least in part, that a talented Liverpool lad has to go and play under his tutelage. Whole thing is a joke.

Not worried, but a bit surprised that he didn’t get any minute since the NT break. Well, it’s just three games; but he was on form before and during the break.
