Usually, such fines are largely reserved for Disciplinary issues on the pitch and off the pitch. Poor performances do not warrant fines, just a very stern reprimands.
Getting 2 yellows in one match means you are not professional enough to know when and where to rein in your frustrations. Getting a straight Red for violent conduct is probably just above being suspended by the club internally. It is that bad.
Look at Nunez’s reaction when the opposing CB is winding him up. It wasn’t his first attempt in striking out. That shows he lacks the composure to work under stress which comes in all directions in the PL.
Klopp will sort it out and will be much more protective, just as he did with Sadio and the whole team will help. Darwin is in best hands.
I remember countless times when Klopp subbed Sadio off early just to avoid a situation like this. And Darwin is much younger and unexperienced in this league.
I was speaking with my french portugese friend who supports porto and his opinion having seen him play quite a bit in the portugese league was that it was down to frustration of not taking the chances that came his way and not having the best of performances.
He does not have a reputation for being a hot head. When he got sent off for almeira it was for 2 yellow cards.
I wonder if our bench missed it. As has been said by others, Klopp was at at times proactive with protecting Mane from himself on the games when he was getting a hammering, and yet there were at least 2 occasions prior to this where he clearly hit out at the Palace CB. I hope we didnt overlook for fear of not having the options on the bench to replace him while chasing a game.
If you’re going to abbreviate then I think an apostrophe needs to be inserted every time letters are omitted, so in your example p’r’aps might be right. I’m sure somebody knows.
Not wanting to perpetuate the comparisons with Haaland, but there was a moment during the Bournemouth game where Foden took on a shot from a narrowish angle when he should’ve squared it to Erling who was free in the middle.
Pep mentioned it post-match, saying Foden and others need to learn that Erling is going to be there in these situations.
I think we had the opposite problem yesterday, after the first 10-15 minutes, where we were trying to force it with Darwin too much, rather than playing our natural game, which will ultimately prove more beneficial to Darwin and the team.
Every game thread from last season is littered with complaints of us just pumping the ball into the box to no one. I don’t think we can say that it was Nunez’s presence that made us do that so often.
You think there aren’t snide cunts in the Portuguese league? They’re full of them
He is feeling the pressure of playing for us and putting extra pressure on himself to be productive. And replacing Mané. And that sent him over the edge. Jurgen needs to take some pressure off him and tell him to relax a little.
Poor defender Andersen got 300 to 400 messages of abuse from supporters after last night’s game…oh dear…you antagonised our player, you feigned injury, so…oh dear…
