Are you trying to set a record for embarrassing posts?
āAnyone who writes off a player who has played a total of 259 minutes for us so far, in a new country, a vastly more competitive league and in a totally different system.ā
Thatās the definition of a mug.
Just let him be. Everyone is entitled to an opinion although its sad for a fan to be looking for things to criticize for the sake of it just after a good and important win for us.
Look in the mirror and you see the mug.
Thomasā delivery asideā¦i too have a concerns around Nunezā¦hopefully hes one of those lads that just looks ungainly but is very effective.
time will tellā¦
definitely, I think most of us would see that Nunez has not gotten off firing off all cylinders and definitely has not integrated well into the team in terms of plays and style etc but its just sad that after a good win, that a fellow fan would come to a player thread specifically to blow the trumpet on how right he is that Nunez is so bad, on a player who like has been pointed out to play only so little minutes.
Heās from TrollsRāus.
Jesus Christ thereās some short memories and patience levels going on in here.
Scored four against Leipzig in a 45 minute friendly appearance, scored against City in his first ācompetitiveā cup match for us, goal and assist in his Premier league debut. Then of course got red carded meaning missing the rest of that game and the rest of August, and has been coming off the bench since then in the all of two games that weāve played since his return.
But tell us more about how heās an overpriced mug.
Close competition with some others.
Nearly put one in and nearly set up Diaz.
In about 25 minutes itās not a bad contribution to be fair. Being judged on stuff we would let others get away with.
His body shape was all wrong for the chance he had from Salahās pass but then just after he made a great run to tee up Diaz for what would have been a tap in. Good and bad things so far but then heās so raw. For me heās less of a Mane replacement, because thatās Diaz and more of an Origi replacement although obviously an expensive one. I like that he makes things happen but he doesnāt look like the sort of player youād build an attack around at this stage. Heās a project and we might need to be patient.
If he started last night who knows he might have scored a hatrick.
To be fair to him he has come into a team thats bang out of form and has been hit by injuries.
Butā¦he shouldve tucked away that chance last night. Thats a bad miss.
Im still not sure he is good enough but because of what I said I above ill wait until he has a few games with a team on form around him.
āDid you hear something, babe?ā
āThought I did, turned out it just was a load of waffleā
I think we are rather spoiled the way Mane, Salah, Jota, and Diaz slotted in so smoothly. We keep forgetting that Firmino, Robertson, and Fabinho required considerable bedding-in time.
Well Firmino did as Rodgers either didnt play him or when he did stuck him on the wing
Didnāt Bobby start out as a defender? Im sure brendan wanted to play him in defence
Heās been incredibly wasteful in front of goal. We only know that because, for as badly as the team has performed overall, there have still been a good number of chances that have fallen to him. Ordinarily you would take some positives out of a new striker regularly getting into goal scoring situations and just not putting them away. With Darwin itās his lack of conviction with those chances and how badly he has missed so many of them that raised concerns for me. Especially as his successful of fluffed chances against Palace seemed to be the basis of his frustration that he then took out on their CB.
ManƩ has been equally wasteful in a number of spells.
Heāll get better
I donāt think calling is equally is defensible. Not in terms of the number of chances spurned, the qualitative awfulness of the attempts, the lack of actual productivity balancing it out. Most importantly not in terms of having already proven their worth.
None of this is writing Nunez off, but it is adding colour to the issues heās had.
