Saw the post-match with Ali translating for Nunez. Are we to assume from that that his English is barely improved since last year ?
Itās enough if he understands basic english. Doesnāt need to be able to speak fluently in front of camera
Does he though ? Didnāt Ali also have to translate the question ?

Scores 2 goals at Newcastle and Iām not seeing any more comparisons to Andy Caroll. I am disappoint.
He gives us something different as do what jota provides or what Gakpo provides
Horses for courses.
Heās probably the perfect player to screw over a tired defense.
Nope. It would get very annoying, very quickly.
Jesus christ not this again.
Why not ?
Well because the dude just scored 2 late goals to win us the game in some fashion and the first thing people wanna comment on is what his language skills are like or if theyāve improved, itās like really? Why not just talk about the football?
Because it looks like the issue that was given as a reason for him not progressing as well as he might has still not been resolved ā¦ over a year later.
Look I love the guy too , and I want him to be the best he can , but learning the language is obviously a part of that happening. Maybe he has actually improved but was just uncomfortable in front of the camera. Thatās why I was asking if anyone actually knew what the score was.
Is that the tiktok fella? Really funny that was. sky sports got his channel banned for ācopyrightā
When you see Darwin coming on:
When see him make his first touch and realise he canāt control the ball:
When you see a Newcastle player backheel the ball behind the last line and realise he doesnāt need to make a first touch at all:
No in all honesty, he like a lot of players did very well yesterday given the circumstances. And a brace like that is going to do the world of good for his confidence. Iām not sure heās the best fit for all circumstances and there are times when we need that extra pressure that Gakpo can bring with the press. Though please donāt play him through the middle again Klopp!
Itās this guy (and Iām still laughing my heart out at this video ):
What a goalscoring talent that lad is! The way he found a way past the keeper, on both occasions, was breathtaking.
I said it during pre-season: something has changed with the lad at a physical level. He has become leaner, and it seems to translate in term of being able to produce faster movement on and off the ball. He impressed me no end during this pre-season, and I was quite astonished to see him start the season on the bench. Then again, we have other potent players, so he just needed to keep patient and not lose his confidence. Thatās exactly what he did, well done lad!
Two very good finishes, because he missed a few similar ones last season. The first one especially, perfect shot; being so accurate while putting some power on it. Canāt fault his attitude one bit even when heās not starting, at least so far. I donāt care which names come out on top and who, other than obviously Salah, are the other two players who will play more this season. Just want the best for the team.
In light of his post match interview, it seems that Darwin is in need of extra English lessons. I propose we compile a list of useful phrases for him to learn.
I suggest:
Yes boss, no boss, once again you are right boss.
Iām fuckinā mental!
Offside.
Open goal.
Shanked it wide.
Pass it you fuckinā wanker!
VAR? Youāre having a laugh!
Do you like my hair?
Game of two halves.
Sick as a parrot.
The boy done good.
The refereeing was questionable.
Top of the league!
It was only Man U, wait until we play a decent team.
Everton are shite.
DOGSO.
Any other suggestions?
Any grammar issues to be referred to Cynical.
Harvey is my best friend. He took me manbag shopping.
I mean, for the Uruguayan Carroll, no one should be surprised that he can score at St Jamesā Park, should they?
Iāve been learning German for years and I can barely order food in a restaurant, let alone speak about the emotions I have right after scoring two important goals to win a match in extremely trying circumstances, leaving aside all the other speculation about my future and place in the teamā¦
