Darwin NUNEZ: 2023/24

One of the blokes looks like he is making a money gesture :joy:

Old bloke in glasses, arms crossed, just to the right of the hand.

lol

He knows theyā€™re shite.

I am assuming that her boyfriend is the deflated one with the jumper around his neck.

That 100% would be my wife if the teams were reversed. Revelling in my Liverpool misery.

Cant find it now, but saw some interesting comments from him saying that Bielsa has been calling him to do remote video session to review his performances :joy:

Isnā€™t Bielsa the Uruguayan Manager now? So it might be a quite normal thing to reach out to his players. If it helps itā€™s very much appreciated.

Like I said a few months ago, poor Darwin. He will possibly get totally different informations from Klopp and then Bielsa. Good luck.

Machine.

Keep him at centre forward and give him a proper chance to develop, heā€™s by far and away our most talented option.

Itā€™s at least a little thought provoking to see how much he was attacking the right channel here though.

In the first half, he was more down the left in the second.

Just shows how good he is at recognising and exploiting space. If you start him from the side he canā€™t make full use of that ability.

Can we always add slight context to these posts.

No worries.

I noted he was given 20 mins rest in that game, so yeah anything would put me on edge.

Not like we donā€™t have options mind.

Darwin Nunez is such an enigma. He has all the physical qualities to succeed in the PL and in Europe. If only Luis Suarez gave him so pointers on how to finish an attacking move, he would give Haaland a run for his moneyā€¦

Hopefully Suarez gives him pointers about nutmegging and shooting technique and not going around nibbling defenders

Very good.

I feel heā€™s on an upwards trajectory lately and possibly for the first time since heā€™s here, I see him as our first choice central guy. Weā€™ll see how it continues of course, but heā€™s in a pretty good place now.

Improved in how he uses the ball when he has to drop a bit deeper and get involved our game and also how to position himself and act when we press/defend. Back against the goal heā€™s now very assured, doesnā€™t lose possession, looks less wild or undecided and more confident about his next move.

His understanding and link up with Salah is ever present as well. All of Nunezā€™s 6 assists for us were exactly for Mo. That was the key question since we signed Nunez, whether we could be a highly functional team with both of them playing in their best roles.

Having a better midfield in technical aspects also helps that, a bit like how Pep says they need to have players close to Haaland in order to make it all work.

Promising signs, hopefully he just keeps improving from now on.

Not a bad list eh?

Heā€™s so good, doesnā€™t even matter if teams sit in a low block against him, he still finds space.

Impossible to keep quiet for 90 minutes.
