Darwin Nunez (CF/LW) to Al Hilal/Atletico/Napoli

He was doing well in his second year until he scored that last minute winner against Forest. Afterwards, it was like he hit a brick wall, one which he never got past. Not in Klopp’s last months and not in Slot’s first full season.

While it’s true that last season there may have also been a system/tactics issue with getting production from whomever was playing as the No.9, it’s also clear that he gave up trying to make it work.

It’s a shame because despite his limitations, he could have provided a lot more. If he had, he wouldn’t be getting ready to head off to the Middle East at 26.

Good luck to Darwin Nunez. Two decent - not great, not terrible - seasons under Klopp, then slipped back, and out of favor, under Slot. In light of all that, we were never going to sell him for a very high price, but this all seems reasonable enough. I would imagine it’s a profit in the book value, but I’m a football fan, not an accountant. It’s a rare day when I’m cheering for a spreadsheet!

I like Nunez, and like everyone else, I see the ingredients there for a very useful striker, but we all know the score. He couldn’t quite get the finishing down, and missed too many.

No harm in all that. We are at the top of the tree, and we have probably signed an upgrade in Ekitike, and if Isak comes, he will definitely be an upgrade on Nunez.

No hard feelings for the lad, and nothing but best wishes.

Ideally he gets his mojo back and bangs in a few goals, before getting another good European move. He’s well capable. He leaves as a Premier League Champion. Not bad at all.

This will be 3 strikers gone now with Chiesa soon to be 4. With Ekitike the only incoming up top so far, Isak becomes more than a necessity now. With only a week till the season starts we have 2 key positions in CF and CB that need reinforcements. These players will need time to bed in also. We started the window looking like the squad was complete after our first few signings and are now about to enter the season looking rather thin in 2 of the most vital areas of the pitch.

Haha I trust Hughes and Edward’s to get the right players in we’re just cutting it short in terms of having them in and ready for the start of the season.

Mate. This season he has been spot on. I was very skeptical but this guy has got most things if not all spot on.

Hopefully the deal comes to like 53 million Euros + 20 million Euros in Add-ons. Al Nassr had a similar deal for Felix with 20 million Euros in add-on with Chelsea.

Walshy called the Wirtz transfer before anyone else, he’s earned the right to post some shite.

Honestly, I don’t care if IndyKaila is a bullshitter. I love the guy. Endlessly entertaining.

We won’t make a loss.

The way football Finance works we will actually record a Profit.

This is because 3 years of his Original Transfer Cost will have been written off as a cost over the last 3 years. What remains (Book Value) is what we be classed as his current cost with any incoming fee matched against to arrive at the final Cost/profit from sale.

Nerdy stuff, but the club are running a very good financial operation trust me

I normally wouldn’t entertain him but this last year he has got a lot right - especially LFC news.
I mean he was behind me with Wirtz but there you go

But then he will post some shit-housery to wind up a fanbase. Gotta love it.

But the club will use ‘Worst case scenario’ when registering him as a asset.

So when working out his amortisation value, ie the amount to take to cost each year, they would have done this based on the total cost potentially. He will have been registered on the books at the full 85m with 1/5th being taken to cost each year to reduce this asset (book value)

Then when he is sold, any bonuses not paid will be retaken as a benefit

Makes me wonder if @Walshy07 is indy, but his form took a knocking because charlie adams was giving him duff info for a bucket of kfc…leading to walshy not posting wirtz stuff as indy and had to create a bayern space ego to break it to the world whilst revealing it here as himself?

If Walshy is indykalia he deserves a knighthood, if he’s not , he should be made to watch amorims team talks

Coming to the deal think its brilliant for all concerned. Nunez will be earning 25 million pounds a season without tax. In 3 years time he would have made 100 million Pounds with bonuses - he can buy a club in Spain with that money! Al-Hilal are huge there, he might retire there if he likes the place by which time he would made 300-400 million in 6-7 years !! Anywhere in Europe he would have made like 40-50 million max with 100’s pages criticizing him on his finishing. He will score loads of goals of there just like he did with Benfica.

Eh? 18 goals and 15 assists in a season (23/24) isn’t performing enough for you? He was on an upwards curve compared with his first season, then Slot came in and he stopped performing indeed.

For me, he wasn’t able to adapt quickly enough to Slot’s new system, and as a result, Slot lost his confidence in him, which in turn, destroyed his self-confidence.

No doubt, he needs to leave, but imo, Klopp’s departure is the main reason for his breakdown in form. He’s the kind of player who needs 100% backing, pats on the shoulder, Klopp hugs etc. in order to perform.

Point taken. He seems to lose belief over longer periods, especially when things are’t going for him, and that’s obviously something which shouldn’t happen when you play for a top club..
