Darwin Nunez (CF/LW) to Al Hilal/Atletico/Napoli

Would make sense that a fee of around 40 or 50m euros is likely. Clubs know we would like to move him on, he’s a couple of years into his contract, he hasnt pulled up many trees while here and will be on relatively big wages compared to what most other clubs are paying.

Alright Napoli, do the deal quickly pay us the 50m we are asking for.

Exactly. It is in Napoli’s interest to close this quickly, or other clubs might come in. We will get a half decent sum, but a bit short of what the Saudis would offer. I can live with that. If it is Napoli, they are a proper club, champions in a big league, and I think Nunez will do well there. Good luck to him.

My best guess is Ekitike will be the striker we sign. Still some work to do to be the finished article, but plenty there for Slot to work with. Isak misses too much football for me, especially for the money they would want.

If Nunez wants to to go to Napoli it matters little if other clubs come in with bigger offers. Seems as if Darwin isn’t bothered by the Saudi project.

Does Darwin speak Italian?

I know lots of people in Argentina do but not sure about Uruguay.

Italians and Spanish understand each other like Glaswegians and Scousers.

He’s probably been learning for the past couple of weeks since a certain former right back forwarded Darwin his affiliate link for a discount on duo-lingo :owl:

Probably go there to mainly be Lukaku’s backup/competition and potentially replace him one day.

But what I’d give to see Lukaku and Nunez up top in Contesque 4-2-4, with a bit of McTominay appearing from midfield.

A carnival of football played on the floor.

:joy:

I personally prefer Nunez to Osimhen.

Time other clubs call Laurentis’s bluff and refuse to deal with Napoli on Osimhen.

Interesting tidbit from graham id never heard before about the Benteke signing is that he and the data team had been pushing for Lukaku

Probably not the same window. But we were pushing for Lukaku . Chelsea refused to loan a player to a rival and instead loaned him to Everton.

That was the same window they loaned us victor Moses.

It’s probably the 13/14 season.

How are your 1st and 2nd paragraphs compatible?

They realised that loaning us Victor Moses was weakening a rival. 4D chess.

He didn’t do too badly for us from what I remember of the 13-14 season

I do remember some of those links with Lukaku and yeah it was before Benteke (and no, not in that summer, though Limie didn’t even say that).

Rodgers’ quotes were incredibly contradictory in that summer of 2015 when (after a horrible summer of 2014) apparently we wanted to go back to our basics, pressing from the front, etc. Then he goes out and buys Benteke for big money…

Moses was basically invisible. Started off decent with that goal away at Swansea, but we didn’t get much from him as the season progressed. His best stuff turned out to be that RWB period under Conte at Chelsea.

Your memory is suspect.
He was poor.

Saw Chelsea play a pre-season friendly in Indianapolis that year. Victor Moses was easily the best player on the pitch that game so I was excited for the loan.

But yeah, Moses was a rather more than a bit meh for us.
