Like the player but would like to see less than 50m spent tbh. Portuguese league isn’t renowned for its quality with 85m players. Jürgen does love signing a player who plays well against us.

Thing is, he was already Benfica’s transfer record.
We do like an unusual path and career, even for our most expensive transfers.
He had something like 20 odd games in Uruguay, one full season in Segunda Division and then Benfica splashed a transfer record on him.
I remember that summer thinking, who is this kid?
Of course, the only thing that matters is that he’s quality for us, like a lot of them have been.

49 assists from how many attempts ? The talk of Assists is all good but Tsimikas has a better end ball than Robbo. I can’t remember too many corners from Robbo that really come up well.

now that I think of it, all outlets saying Liverpool will not get into a bidding war might imply that we have already submitted a take it or leave it offer to Benfica and that Nunez must have made it clear his preferred choice is us and its really up to Benfica to accept or reject. And I am thinking that we would not have submitted a 85mil pound offer but perhaps again in the region of 60-70 mil pound fee?

He was 4th in the league in attempted crosses and tied for 3rd in the league in total assists. He’s very very good both in attack and defensively.

At the risk of interrupting the absurd Robertson debtate, I agree with gasband. We have concrete interest in Nunez have started the transfer process and are now using the usual journos to put out what we want to put out, to put pressure on them to take our offer.
Nunez apparently wants us only, we’re prepared to pay well for him, but aren’t going to start matching offers from other suitors like United when Nunez doesn’t want to go there.
Hopefully it pays off and we get our man.
