Darwin Núñez (FW) Benfica

If Darwin has the same Garra Charua spirit then we are in business!

I think a lot depends on the composition of the offer. Considering Portuguese clubs have feeble revenue streams, a large amount upfront is tempting.

That is why I think that the 85mil pound fee is exaggerated and does not look like something we do. Its not like we cannot or will not pay that kind of money but its not something we do at a wimp, unlike those crazy clubs who throw money like nothing. If it is a player we must have, I think we would have gone along the lines of what we paid for Alisson and VVD. Of course I think if Benfica comes back and hold strong for a few millions more, I think the club might just relent as they did with VVD’s case but I still think we will not pay 85mil. Lets see how it pans out, if what I think is true, then it would not take too long because Benfica would have to respond fast enough.

Darwin and his theories of evolution could help us understand how a player like Maguire can still exist in 2022

A lot of them initially seem to think he’s a good player , now they are saying he’s the Uruguayan Andy Carroll…which I thought cavani was …

Tsimikas has 2 assists since he joined us. He’s a great back-up but you’re not seriously comparing him to our best ever left back?

There’s a simpler comparison to be made: strong, quick, great finisher, devilment, from Uruguay…

Correction…he’s the Uruguayan we signed alongside Andy Carroll…

No, just a sort of joke, you haven’t missed much :slightly_smiling_face:

I say sort of because I started talking myself into the idea of Kane to Liverpool. Suddenly I was all in, convinced Kane was the perfect Mane replacement and it all made so much sense. From 0 to 100 in no time, I went from happy-go-lucky, not bothered with who we’d get and just trusting the club, to Kane or bust. It almost felt like Thiago all over again. What a ride.

So now I’m re-calibrating, after a good 12 hours or so (half of them asleep) of Harry-mania.

Anyway…our boy Darwin will do :+1:

Maybe we’ll get Nunez and Bayern will continue to be cheap bastards with Mane so we’ll end up keeping him as well

As long as he keeps his teeth out the road!

Getting ready for the commentator to say “That was not too clever by Darwin” after his first foul.

This guy is a fucking unit and will absolutely terrorize PL defenders, moreso than Haaland, IMO. He’s like a cross between Zlatan and Suarez for me, and still has room to get better with the right coaching.

That said, it will mean a big change in our formation, tactics, and approach, which I see as a good thing.

Outrageous finishes. Thanks for posting that.

His injury record ain’t bad. There was one injury where he required surgery which ruled him out for 3 months.

Seems to have a better injury record than Haaland.

This is important. Haaland could very well struggle with the physicality of the PL. Nunez will not.

4231?

I can see the sense in this if Mane goes this summer and Mo follows him next year. We need to be less reliant on the wide players to deliver the goals. Wide goal scorers like Mane and Salah are rare.

Not so much the physicality of the PL. Haaland keeps breaking down quite a lot. Let’s just say that Nunez to Liverpool makes better sense than Haaland to City.
