Darwin Núñez (FW) Benfica

The fact you fucked up he quoting of this is I think the most appropriate distillation of the Stewart Downing experience possible.

Conversely, there are the likes of Jota, Diaz and Carvalho, so maybe it got worse before it got/gets better. I can’t say much about Nunez other than what I’ve already said - he put two of the best performances I’ve seen in CL against Liverpool but so did Minamino. That said, he looks built for Premier League.

It’s quite far gone if Joyce is mentioning it, expect Mane to be done soon after for around 40m.

I’d be happy with that.

Yeah, Nunez for the combined price of Mane (who he’d be replacing), Minamino and AOC (who both barely play for us) is something I could live with, especially if he stays fit and hits the ground running.

Interesting to see which way around we announce it. Nunez in first then Mane next week - at which point we can celebrate his contributions as a player rather than have to be negative about his departure?

Or we could “hide” it by announcing Mane is leaving then make the Nunez deal official a few days later. Might feel a bit disrespectful to Mane though.

I tried to fix it, couldn’t and gave up

So yes, you’re right!

We would probably dedicate 3-4 pages on Nunez so I expect Mane first to allow us to run fully on Nunez.

Sure, after he was no longer scout for the region

Is there a way you can post a mostly correct version of the post in a different thread (but one completely unrelated to the topic of Downing or Nunez, or anything else we’re actually talking about in this thread)?

Have to say whenever I’ve seen Benfica play* I’ve noticed him and it’s not just because he is a rather decent looking chap.

It fills in the gap if the La Liga game is crap on a late Saturday or Sunday

Fab is way behind.

Is it even a transfer rumour with random journo’s getting their fame?

Yeah, I said a few days ago that there’s not much to think over Kane, of course I’d take him.

Will be interesting to see how is Nunez in the back to goal aspect when he’s central for us, link up play, etc. Especially as we don’t have a lot of games when we have room for runs in behind and need to break down teams more.

I’d expect the Mane exit would be seen negatively if we didn’t adequately replace him. Which it seems we are.

People go on about (not you specifically) about Mane going like it’s a surprise. I’ve been expecting him to leave over the next few years anyway. Looks like he wants a big pay day, to win some trophies and also have a challenge. All the best to him!

The best part of the window! Local journo’s! The one who broke Naby has like 10k+ followers after that.

No posts for 13 minutes.

The deal has obviously collapsed.

80m is around 68m GBP. That’s a better price. If Nunez insists on Liverpool as his only choice , The fee can come out to be even lesser.

I think we’re all holding our breath

£68mil + £17mil addons is the rumour. £15mil than Haaland cost (not factoring wages).

He’ll be on the same wages as Diaz. That’s atleast 3 times lesser than the wages offered to Haaland.

Also 68M is something that can be recouped through player sales.
