He’s not conceding it appears as it would
Trump is so popular with the actual Republican voters, however, especially the rural types and the pickup driving male suburbanites who fancy themselves latter-day Clint Eastwoods hanging sheetrock in the homes of their enemies. He would likely easily win the nomination and probably lose, again, the general election. He sucks so much oxygen from the room that he hurts the chances of other Republicans, especially moderate ones, to grow their careers.
This is what I mean by nightmare scenario. The Republican party is better off if he fades away.
What odds he revives The Apprentice (POTUS edition)?
Lots of loans to pay off…
But surely his health won’t hold up for four more years would it?
Renamed “Pussy Grab.” Or wouldn’t that fly?
The goobers would lap it up.
I mean, his diet is shit by all reports, but he’s pretty vigorous. Four and five rallies a day speaking for an hour to an hour and a half at all of them. He doesn’t really strike me as a 74-year-old. (More like a two-year-old). And he kicked COVID’s ass. Remember that veranda moment, pulling off his mask like a recovering Mussolini. Had me in tears, that.
HAHAHA
That’s much better!
LOL ! That look he gave when he flipped it down !!!
He has spent several minutes over the last days to praise those wonderful people who do all the job with his magic board. But this time, someone is getting slightly criticised I think
They do have populist types coming to fill his vacuum. And they would agree with you, I think.
@Magnus in a good mood. Love to see that.
Now that’s a good thought. Made me pause and breathe.
RIP, Mr Lewis.
Short attention span though? Other, new shiny objects to get distracted by?
I think, at least in this response, you are focusing too much on the response to the election and not on the totality of the way he ran his government. A lot of the illegal stuff he was able to get away with was because the people who should have been able to stop him chose not to, either because it was furthering their agenda as well or they chickened out of a fight they weren’t sure they had the political capital to win. But like I said, dictators only become so because they are allowed to be by people who enable them, so I dont know that he got so much help can be used to argue against it.
He isn’t a fascist, but he is absolutely an authoritarian. He is also so close to the definition of Neo-fascist (which isn’t the same as fascist) that to not have that label, he really needed to blast his malignant right-wing supporters, which he hasn’t done and never will.
The correct definition of Trump if one wants to use precise labels, which one should after all, is a corrupt nepotistic plutocratic authoritarian.
And I think it has been pretty clear, that if he could get away with it, he would also be a proper dictator.
The main difference between Trump and being a facist dictator is competency.
That’s why I’m still worried about the precedents he has set. More competent authoritarians will follow his lead and be much more dangerous.
There is something beautiful about NV and GA going for Biden in a cycle in which Trump continued fights with the states’ favourite sons even after they had passed. I dont think that was a deciding factor in GA, but it doesnt make it any less sweet.
