Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

The Burisma issue has been well reported for six years now all over the mainstream press. If the Republicans make a hash of the Biden family’s K-street grifting, well that probably says it all, but we already knew the incompetency there… From Ponzi schemes and cavorting with financial crooks, to billion dollar Iraq contracts whilst daddy is overseeing the war, to getting a job straight out of college (100k) for a Delaware credit card company (securitisation) whilst ol’ Joe was shilling bankruptcy “reform” as a Senator. Reform meaning the inability to expunge debts through bankruptcy. I have no idea about the missing in the mail bit.

Considering his last four books/collections are about the awful US media landscape, police brutality and systemic racism, the insanity behind Trump’s 2016 election, and the rise of the alt-right, I don’t think that qualifies as “contrarian”.

I’m talking about events going back to 2014, which were picked up pretty much straight away by the blogs I follow… As for Ken Dilanian, well;

so it begins…

Biden declaring victory because he swept Dixville Notch, too funny.

This whole year feels like it’s been written by Chris Morris. 2020 by Brass Eye.

This is actually a momentous and historical day. So important what happens today. Even if damage after Trump cannot be repaired in just a few years and perhaps ever, it can still become a lot, lot worse. It can always get worse. I shudder at the thought of an unlikely Trump win.

When the dust settles down, I hope serious discussions are held over this phenomenon. Destroying people’s livelihood, because you are not happy should never be acceptable.

I loved the Fletch movies, i wish they would have done another one. Although i much preferred the first movie, one of my favourite scenes is probably in the second movie where he pretends to be a rich businessman, and the factory manager tells him he is wrong (towards the end of this clip).
