Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

Maybe, and over all you are indeed right, no doubt. But then you have biblical hermeneutics on the other hand which deals with intepretation etc. But I am not prepared to dwell into my books right now.
Not saying you are wrong here, just that there is and certainly was, an industry that dealt with intepretation. Not saying I am right. I would have to read up.

Just imagine how many people without the ability to filter information and think critical, that gets persuaded that this is the truth. So many ! This is so dangerous :weary:

Twitter flagged the tweet, so they can see that this is not true. But his “cult45” people don’t care, they only believe in God and the president and that the media is the evil etc.

Love it.

“Biden is a fucking wanker”. Excuse me while I forget what Trump is.

Frankly, I didn’t understand the Dominion issue. But since it was a Tramp tweet, I just laughed hard and cursed him harder.

A friend of mine commented to me after one of the debates that he didnt know what Trump was even talking about half the time. That’s where we are now - the shit they talk about it so far out of the main stream that it is meaningless nonsense to people who dont watch Hannity etc.

Dominion is the vote-counting system/machine in wide use (ominous name). Oddly, not a single error reported with a Dominion system used in a state that Trump won, but in the ones he didn’t there is some sort of cover-up happening to make sure those errors are not known.

Or something.

There is presumably a natural divide between Democrats on the left and right on deficit spending. Who chooses the Fed Board members and would that be problematic for a new administration, or would Biden have authority/influence to ensure that the board would be supportive of his policies?

Federal Reserve Governors are appointed by the President, confirmed by the Senate, but serve an intentionally long 14 year term. Extremely difficult to remove for a President, by design. It is actually a thornier problem than the Supreme Court, though with more limited consequences.

As for the divide, I think we are at least 9 weeks away from Republicans worrying about deficit spending again.

I love how conservatives the world over do that.

It’s so endearing.

Hmm, well, I would give them a chance when they were mentally healthy again, if that day will come. For now, they are much too ill to serve in any function where other people are involved:

Yeah, that worked so very well in 2010. Two years wasted trying to get morons to accept that Robert’s Rules of Order were not a communist conspiracy.

It’s more like TNA Impact wrestling, no one is quite sure how it’s still here but it is just about.

I have been not sure if I should post it, in case there are people here receptive to the theories, as I don’t want to cause harm. But I don’t think there are, and since we are discussing QAnon:

It is alarming that this cynical scam has gained a lot of popularity. Previously I wouldn’t have mentioned them, as I prefer such theories to die in silence. But they are gaining more and more strength.

There was a really great episode recently on the Reply All Podcast about one guy’s investigation into who Q is and how we got here. It’s even more absurd and childish than it appears on the surface. I think it was called Country of Liars.
