What’s the update on the election of two Senate seats in Georgia? I read the opinion polls gave the Democrat candidates some edge. Will their edge hold?
The polls have both democratic candidates leading, but many polling companies are not doing anything in Georgia so I doubt the reliability.

There has been a large effort to register and mobilize voters in Georgia, and Stacy Abrams should take a lot of credit for putting the State in play for the Democrats.
Arguably Trump has been damaging his own party’s prospects with all his bluster about the Presidential election. He has attacked his own party officials and undermined the credibility of the electoral process in Georgia.
I get the impression that Mitch McConnell really wants to tear a strip off Trump. “You lost the Presidency. You won’t overturn the result. Stop being a baby and shut your mouth, because the GOP is about to lose the Senate too.” A gap has opened up between McConnell and Trump, but not enough of a gap, as McConnell is a slimy politician, so he doesn’t want to completely disenfranchise Trump’s base, just in case he remains in power as the leader of the Senate.
We will have a wobbly couple of weeks as Trump tries to hang on (I hope he doesn’t do anything huge, like start a war with Iran) and a close Senate contest in Georgia will be carefully tallied.
I expect the outcome to be Democrat control in the White House, Congress and Senate. That should give Biden some time to implement his agenda for two years, while the Republican Party goes though a season post-Trump, trying to decide what it wants to be.

Cult deprogramming will take a lot of time considering how little knowledge these people have to help them think with, as well as their actual raw intelligence, so some may never get out of their bubble. But it will probably take years with many of them.
But I got to be honest, the stupidity and extremely low information type of people this is, have made me sincerely question the concept of Democracy. I am not sure a Democracy is even healthy or the best form of governance, if so many millions of voters are so badly informed. A democracy really need higher percentages of informed voters than what they have in the US.
I don’t know anymore, maybe some other system where not everyone votes would be better. A system where you had to take and succeed on a Civics test to vote for instance. But it is a major system problem when so many millions are casting their votes on something very important for themselves and those around them, and have barely a clue as to what they are actually doing.

20 odd years of mass social media has turned a lot of the world, particularly the US into a fucking absolute box of frogs. And those at the top pressing the buttons have no intention of turning it down.
I don’t do any of the common social media stuff and reading the tripe on the twitter post above feels a bit like eaves-dropping on a primary school class on cheap wine and poppers when the teacher didn’t turn up.
We’re probably fucked as a species really.

Yeah, and my idea about excluding voters was just my frustration about fundament of knowledge, it isn’t a good idea when I come to consider it. Us already excludes a large segment of the population, the prisoners, and nothing good has come from that.
