Well, the first guy you posted will stop some time soon…
You know what, Rudy “trial by combat” Giuliani used to be one of the better Republicans (like Specter, Chafee, Scotts and Baker I mean) (even though his role as Mayor of NY was indeed overhyped), and before that a liberal Democrat.
Where have you been lately? Avoiding my sharp jabs? Glad to see you back.
I’ve been lurking.
Just found this thread and went through the comments, unimaginable
This. There are a few things that bring me to tears and guns and the separation of families have.
Honestly, after Sandy Hook I’ve given up that anything will change as long as the current generation remains in power.
Within hours of the federal prosecutor for D.C. announcing he is looking at prosecuting anyone involved in inciting yesterday’s breach of the capital (including, he answered a reporter, the president) our fearless leader posts this. Disingenuous bastard.
Interestingly, he’ll be a private citizen in a couple weeks. Should take a bit longer than that to gather the evidence.
Maggie Haberman reporting the would-be king is considering a self-pardon in the last few days.
Wait, is he part of the deep state now?
Wait, is the deep state the same as the swamp?
Although to be fair, I am not convinced a desiccated Trump would have such regal features in death. He doesn’t exactly have the right face for it.
Maybe this would be more like him:
Anyway, enough jokes for now. Was fun for a couple of min on Google though !
DC police absolutely knew. Both DC Police and the Department of Defence offered Capitol Hill Police extra manpower for the purposes of this protest, but were refused on the basis that CHP expected ‘robust First Amendment activities only’.
Yes, it is impossible to believe they had no Intel like their chief claim. You have to be a bit tick to believe that. That, or very uninformed.
I don’t think a self-pardon will fly in the end - by way of the ‘rights of Englishmen’ the Founders were asserting against the Crown in the Declaration of Independence and subsequently the Constitution. The Stuart monarchs, as part of their doctrine of absolute rule, asserted a ‘dispensing power’, effectively a right of self-pardon. This was one of the grievances of the Glorious Revolution of 1688, and was explicitly banned by the Bill of Rights in 1689 - a document which the Founders appealed to in setting out the cause of American independance.
It is very hard to imagine the Supreme Court reinstating the idea of absolute rule.
Thread… Some pictures
Got to admit that I was a bit amused by the comment section here (note: some may need to read his 3-4 previous tweets for context). I loved the “I am not smart enough for this”, then the lovely “me either” from someone else, before the “now I get it, Ivanka is definitely Keiko” from the same person several paragraphs under ^-^ !
Awesome to watch people learning, has always given me a good feeling. Just me and my nerdy humour really.
Got to be honest, for years now, I have thought that the president actually could do this, but that it was untested waters. Many of the intellectuals I read have been warning about it, and they seem to fear that it’s possible. Some have written that it is untested waters.
I got to read up on US constitutional law i guess. I don’t know this well at all. I was not aware that it was so closely aligned with 1688 and 1689. I probably should have.
Some of those people have been identified in this very thread, via Twitter of course. One would have thought they’d know them by now.
