One of my american relatives just said it’s like a third world nation right now. Part of me wanted to say that third world countries have better healthcare for options unlike USA but I refrained.

The morning of the riots, Ryan livestreamed the walk to Capitol Hill, saying, “All these working class people taking the week off … We flew here for freedom. They want to steal the election, they want to steal everything.”
She continued to ramble, “We the people are pissed off … We flew by a private jet, God wanted us here today. Trump is my president.”
“This is a prelude going to war,” exclaimed Ryan.
As widespread damage and carnage ensued, Ryan posed in front of a broken window at the Capitol, smiling, with the caption: “Window at The capital. And if the news doesn’t stop lying about us we’re going to come after their studios next.”
Then they accomplished their mission.
“We just stormed the capital. It was one of the best days of my life,” she tweeted at the end of one of the darkest days in American history that left one woman fatally shot and four more dead.

I was looking at a few rural towns in Oklahoma, Mississippi and Alabama the other day… I find it hard to believe they were not third world countries.

You almost cannot believe what you are seeing. This lad wont be on the outside of a jail for years. But there is just something surreal, over-played about this. Even Trump supporters cant be this crass, surely?
A few journalists on twitter are saying that, after the death of the police officer, there is now enough support in the Senate to impeach Trump but Pelosi is waiting until next week before bringing the impeachment - which is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Those Senators will see the weekend as more than enough distance between the incident and their vote.

The problem is he is out in a few weeks anyway and that seemingly defeats any urgent action; its a bit of a paradox, and a lot to consider, and short time in which to take huge decisions.

I find that odd too. The only thing I can think of is Pelosi wants to give Pence more time on invoking the 25th amendment. But since he didn’t take her call yesterday, I am probably not thinking about it the right way. For all her flaws, she’s usually shrewd politically and so I tend to give her the benefit of the doubt on these maneuvers.

I think she too often shows an abundance of caution. In most cases that would be a good thing but here it is missing an opportunity to remove a dangerous man from a powerful office. Any delay to the impeachment makes a mockery of the line that he is too dangerous to allow to be President for 2 more weeks.

Completely agree with you. I really hope she hasn’t bluffed. I would bet @SBYM’s savings account that Pence will call her on it.
Also I wonder if all these cabinet members are resigning to avoid any sort of vote on the 25th amendment. I know, I know the reason may simply be preserving fake integrity, but these people strike me as more manipulative than that. If Pence invokes it and there isn’t a full cabinet, what happens?

Afdter the way Trump through Pence under the bus, does anyone really think Pence will still be his loyal lapdog?
My gut feeling is Pence will be getting all of his evidence and documentation in order ready to to evoke 25th amendment, start impeachment and get the orange sexpest locked up for life
