In fairness, all players look good on highlights videos. There should be lowlights videos as well to balance them out. TBH I’ve seen a handful of Leipzig games this season and he did stand out, although usually with me it’s because I’m playing footballer Scrabble.

Oh, come on, mate, do you always have to be that guy?! And I’m saying this as probably THE pessimist of TIA/TAN!
Is it so hard to feel even a tiny bit of happiness because of a transfer like this one? He doesn’t have many similarities with Keita and Alcantara (although he had a serious injury, after which he has seemingly recovered properly) and he may turn out to be a flop or a success like every other player in the world but the bottom line is that he’s a very talented player, a self-confident and driven character who wants to play for Liverpool and Klopp even though we are not in Champions League. That alone should be a fact that should bring some happiness, if not optimism for the future.
A month ago or so, I had an e-mail exchange with a Hungarian colleague from Budapest (who also fancies Liverpool) where I jokingly told him to tell Szoboszlai to join us ahead of Newcastle. He said he would (and I have evidence!), so I know who we should all thank if Szoboszlai does join and sets the world on fire…

Wanted us to sign Mount or Veiga as a pretty attacking midfield option but Szoboszlai is even better than them. Would be great to have him here.

By the way, I can’t tell if he’s better than either of them but I know that, if he cost the same as Mount, I’d rather have Szoboszlai over Mount - not because I don’t rate the latter but because I never had a good feeling about how he’d fit into this team. Of course, I have the same doubts about plenty of players, even those who are already at Liverpool, but I trust Klopp on this one.
