People refuse to acknowledge it now. Even more in this odd era of Bush reputational rehab, but it was his cruel anti-gay agenda in 2000 that politically activated me. It was fucking gross, and the realization that lots of the people around me didnāt immediately see it as such and instead nodded along like it was a normal and acceptable idea to push made me realize I needed to do something about it.

Really? Why? This is a book that is distributed to school libraries. Do you think this is science? Can you not see how people would look at this and say itās nonsense?
Again, I will reiterate, thereās a difference between people transitioning and accepting an extremist gender ideology.
This is circular now. Your questions are only relevant if you accept your framing, framing that people have told you is based on a misunderstanding of the issue and you refuse to try to defend to help the conversation land on common ground where questions about the appropriateness of books like this can be had.

Iām aware at least one other person is at least partly in agreement with you. Pointing it out doesnāt really do anything to advance the conversation does it. Even once you have a clear understanding of the issue it is possibleā¦reasonable evenā¦to come to a position that favors strict restrictions in sports. I mean, @Arminius has largely landed on this position even while telling you your framing of the larger issue is wrong.
If someone is unable or unwilling to specificy what they mean by biological male then claims about what should or should not be afforded to these people is just handwaving.

This is what I mean by extreme gender ideology. Extreme gender ideology means not only everyone has to accept whatever you say you are, but accepting whatever kids say they are, and giving them drugs to affirm that care no matter what.
Extreme gender ideology does not meaningfully differentiate between those who are genuinely trans and those who are not, ranging from kids going through puberty who are genuinely confused and criminal psychopaths who lie about gender to commit crimes against women.
Iām 100% supportive of those who are genuinely the wrong sex. Iām not of the latter. The far left tells you to accept everyone no matter what.

There are going to be thousands of lawsuits against schools, doctors, therapists etc over the next few decades by people who were advised as children to transition and later came to regret it as adults. Medicalization of āgender affirmative careā to teens outside of therapy/counselling, behavioral changes, and hormone blockers is incredibly rare. And here it is important to point out that hormone blockers were previously a non-controversial, incredibly well studied Tx that have largely reversible effects and are given to cis kids far more often than to kids wanting gender affirmative care.

A person identified as a man can still get pregnant while taking testosterone i.e. hormone therapy. Of course it is better to stop, but always consult with your doctor first.
In any case, you said it yourself, gender stuff only applies to a minority of a minority of people, why is it being dredged up as an excuse to vote in Trump? Iām sure there are ton of other books that might carry false science, whoās going to be the library committee to get them out of circulation? What should their credentials be (moms for liberty probably canāt read above grade 5)? Isnāt this creating an extra layer of government oversight when the US is firing 50% of government employees?
CDC and NIH are getting dismantled, Iām not sure you have ground to yell ābut scienceā as an American.
