The one hope I have is that he will act like a vaccine (the irony..). The generation growing up now may be immune to the “grand capture of stupid” virus that was embedded in the birth of the social media age. Ideally the strategies that infected the susceptible population will (hopefully) not be as virulent on the subsequent generations.

Ignore that he does the thing where he cannot distinguish between the disease and the vaccine (“why are we giving them Hep B?”), he commented that giving the shot to a new born for a sexually transmitted disease makes no sense. We should wait until they are older. [mentally fill in the blank to assume he means older as in shortly before becoming sexually active]…like at age 12.

Yeah sure. The world is full of pretty despicable people getting voted for. AfD im my country. I don’t think they’re half as smart as they think they are, but e.g. Alice Weidel is almost close to an intellectual when compared to Trump. I mean this really goes beyond just ideology. He’s just objectively saying unbelievably stupid, often completely incoherent bullshit. Nonstop. We’re all just used to it.

Kimmel has been reinstated and coming back tonight. There was reporting that the initial decision was taken after consulting with Kimmel to see how he was going to respond to the controversy, so presumably what he’s going to do tonight has been similarly vetted, but this time approved.
Both Nexstar and Sinclair are still refusing to air him though. Long term, that technically isnt allowed in their contract with Disney and would allow Disney to claim damages against them, so will be interesting to see who stands down first.

This is hopeful for Ukraine, and NATO. That’s IF we can trust anything Trump says. We obviously cannot, so rather than giving me any hope, it just makes me wonder what the play is.
Has Trump fallen out with Putin? Probably not, but it may be a negotiating tactic. I’m also wondering which adviser has been in his ear? Or what did he see on TV, or who did he talk to, to almost sound normal on this issue, albeit momentarily?

They have never been friends. Trump admires Putin, but is not his friend. Trump likely thought, maybe thinks, he can be one, but the Tzar does not operate like Trump.
As for this Turn Around, I am extremely firmly in the wait and see camp and it’s not as if the US shows willingness to help Ukraine directly with anything that is monitary.
But for now, it was a good day. But tomorrow might bring a bad day.
