Hero Worship is always a bad thing, some heroes are cleaner than others, but fame and money makes narcisists out of otherwise good people. And some were never that good to start with.
The only one of my heroes I am pretty sure I know is a very nice guy, is the gay rock star Halford.
Simply because everything he says about others is always kind and he goes out of his way to be nice.
But of course, he too will have skeletons in his closet. We all have a few, those of us that are not Jesus.
(but yeah, Halford is delightfully eccentric)

It’s going to be interesting to see how this pans out. After the Musk reconciliation, I don’t expect a lasting rift, but despite her generally despicable nature, Greene has shown some backbone on Israel and the economy. Her new found feminism is encouraging too, and definitely something that she’ll find tough to square with support for this regime.
A day is a long time in Magaworld, and it could all be over by Monday, but if Epstein causes enough of his support to waiver, Trump may be in some trouble. If so, expect some major distractions and petulant strops.

True, but she is a totally delusional and insane conspiracy theorist. It’s a bit harder to control her. She believes Jews control the weather, of course she is against the Israelis and sympathetic to Palestinians then. It’s a given.
Given her unfortunate lunacy, she is also rather easy to discard. She is literally in the main of the QAnon movement. I would probably not celebrate her being on “my team” in any given case, since she brings credibility damage just by associaton. Of course, it’s nice that she is resisting Trump, as it aids Dems, but she is a less intelligent David Icke and monstrously insane.
Perhaps she can have an awakening. It’s possible. But she believes in so many delusional conspiracy theories, is so dangerous in herself and influences so many stupid uncritical people, that I would be wary. We can hope she wakes up. But for now, she is still deep in Lizardmen drivel.

MTG is a loon, no two ways about it.
At the moment she is a useful loon, as she is holding on to the Epstein stuff - release the files, protect the girls who were trafficked - and at that point we have a convergence of interest, as it is the right stance, AND it might, just might, be the issue that finally sinks Trump.
I can’t be too optimistic, given all that has happened before that he has got away with; but there is a small amount of hope.

And “the incident gone viral” is not only not viral but does not seem to available if you google it. But even if the actual comments did happen, the description of them by the slop generators relative to what they actually describe (utterly unremarkable comments) are completely disconnected. This is just the perfect illustration of the dead internet theory

Yeah. I am all for redemption arcs and giving people room to grow and change. Hell, Im even ok with otherwise awful people stumbling upon the right answer to an important question (see Thomas Massie), while still being wrong about everything else. But I don’t think a public figure gets to wake up one day and just be allowed to present themselves as someone completely different without explaining to the public their about turn. She has a long history of toxic contributions to our political discourse and has actively contributed to the security threat the people she opposes have faced. There is an apology and an explanation for her about turn that is surely a required step in this process before she gets platformed as a normal person with ideas that deserve to be heard the way she is currently being presented.
