We’ll see. Not exactly holding our collective breaths on this one.

I expect him to move against them somehow and ultimately claim full authority over everything.

At that point the fall of the US will be complete.

Or position them as the deep state who are preventing him doing what he wants to, making him argue simultaneously that we have the best economy ever AND that the problems you are experiencing with the economy are down to “them” trying to stop Trump winning, causing his 35% of the electorate to double down on him and his terrible ideas

Yeah. Something like that crossed my mind.
I’ll be honest, something more violent did as well.

Commerce Secretary Lutnick’s family set to profit from Supreme Court’s ruling

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s family stands to profit significantly from the Supreme Court’s decision striking down President Donald Trump’s tariffs. Lutnick, who led Cantor Fitzgerald for 30 years before handing control to his sons before joining the Trump administration, publicly championed the tariffs. However, documents obtained by Wired reveal that Cantor Fitzgerald purchased rights to tariff refunds from affected companies, paying 20-30% of what companies paid out in tariffs. The firm now stands to reap returns of up to five times its initial investment. Cantor Fitzgerald denied involvement in positioning against the tariffs. Critics on social media condemned the apparent conflict of interest, with journalist Adam Cochran calling it “the 53rd scheme by a Trump official to profit from government policy.” Others described it as “pure criminality and graft,” noting Lutnick was also tasked with implementing the tariffs.

Seems hard for the President to rely on the 15 percent statute (sec 122) when his DOJ in our case told the Court the opposite: “Nor does [122] have any obvious application here, where the concerns the President identified in declaring an emergency arise from trade deficits, which are conceptually distinct from balance-of-payments deficits." If he wants sweeping tariffs, he should do the American thing and go to Congress. If his tariffs are such a good idea, he should have no problem persuading Congress. That’s what our Constitution requires.

That great pic of Trump screaming and toys everywhere seems to encapsulate the way his mind works.
At the end of the day any tariffs are paid ++ by the American consumers, and many interim agents will use it as an excuse to tack a little bit on.
He can talk all he likes about prices coming down but it will not convince the average person who is confronted with ever increasing costs just to survive.

Trump says U.S. sending hospital ship to Greenland for people ‘not being taken care ‌of there’

Yeah right, wonder how many medics are among the “crew”.
Certification of the orange toddler is well overdue.

Yeah, about that. He’s done everything possible to ruin America, and many places beyond, since 2016. I’m convinced the average American who votes red will never believe the truth in front of their eyes when they can simply take the easy way out and listen to all the guff spouted out by the propaganda machine.

For example:

‘I paid $16 for a tray of eggs today’

Trump Administration ‘eggs were $24 dollars a tray under Biden!’ (they weren’t, they were $12)

‘woohoo, eggs are cheaper man! Trump rocks’

Absolutely gobsmacked by the British Embassy reaction!
These people when they get home should hassle the government for explanations. It’s their job to serve these people, isn’t it?

"This Sunday morning, I’ve now seen a number of comments on this mysterious Truth Social post from Donald Trump. It demonstrates with absolute clarity that the man is suffering from dementia and cannot grasp the most basic connections.

Why do I say this? Because what his post is almost certainly prompted by is the fact that the Danish navy evacuated a sick crew member from an American submarine near Greenland within the last few days.

Trump has been informed of this and told that the sick submariner (or whatever his rank may be) has been evacuated. But Trump’s dementia-addled brain cannot process even the most straightforward information. Hence his bizarre post."

Yes, I think someone has really messed things up there. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Both of the U.S. (Navy) hospital ships are in port in Alabama for repairs. There is no hospital ship enroute to Greenland.

It’s scary really. My mother-in-law suffers from this kind of age-related befuddlement, and we won’t leave her alone with the remote control for the telly.

There is also the sheer weirdness of Trump mentioning the involvement of Louisiana?!?
