Seriously stop with the stupid super delegates shit. It has no bearing at all on Bernieās failures to earn the nomination for a party he will not even officially join. His issue in both runs was simply he could not get enough primary voters to vote for him. He has never been close enough with regular voters for his lack of super delegates to matter.
It is also a complaint that generates an eye roll when it is made at the same time as arguments about the Dems are weak for not forcing Biden out in 2024 earlier, or for allowing Trump to win in 16 or 24. Do you want centralized power within the party that can decide for itself who is their candidate or not?

The argument though is it is Congressā retreat from owning its article 1 powers that has put led to the transfer of power to the executive branch and less (small d) democratic power. And it is in large part the evolution of how easy it is to filibuster that has changed Senators roles from legislating to whatever this performative ass hackery is that we see today.
If you make them actually take floor votes you force them to take a stand in a way they are currently able to avoid. If you have a way to get floor votes you put together more coherent focused bills that give them less room to pretend to be against something while voting for it. The absence of any sort of meaningful legislating is what has created the void that Presidents have increasingly stepped in to fill over the past 30 years or so. If you want to make the executive branch more accountable then congress needs to start doing its job, and the most effective way to force that is to get rid of the current absurd fillibsuter rules.
The fillibuster was never supposed to be like this. It was never intended to need supermajorities to pass legislation. It certainly was never intended to allow for so few people (often just the majority leader himself) to dictate what does or does not get a floor vote.

Just on this. I had in my head that the US will ultimately pull out due to the increased pressure on oil prices but your post got me wondering if Israel just goes rogue and carries on regardless, pursuing whatever goals they have on their own.
Then what impact does that have? If thatās the case I get the feeling others start paying āspecial attentionā. Then again closure of the Straits may do that anyway.
