No part of this has been above board. Even for Trump the wild swings in what this project is about are noteworthy.
It was a ballroom that was needed for ball room related activities and was being paid for privately (not actually better than government funds but was at least the argument for not needing congressional approval and budget)
Then it was later revealed to have some sort of security component to it, but unrelated to the hosting of events, just separate bomb shelter type shit.
Then it became needed for security of the president at social events despite him frequently doing low security public events (because he doesnt actually work) and the event under focus being way too big to use the ballroom anyway even if it was going to host private events
Then it needed funds approved by congress.
Wild that according to this motion they are somehow now saying that it wont cost tax payers anything despite the parallel push for congressional funding
