Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 3)

You would have to worry what is in it.
If he uses it,it might turn users as mad as a cut snake!

Aperitif.

That’s what they call it.

Sounds stupid, doesn’t it?

I’m not sure whether you are aware, but in Northern England, a ā€œtrumpā€ is a loud smelly fart.

Umm, does he realise as an immigrant he can’t run for president?

Given that Trump wants to continue to be a president despite it not being allowed and is also looking to overturn birthright citizenship in some cases, nothing is off the table (it seems)

I doubt he wants to be president. Elon is a dickhead but he seems to care a lot about some issues and has some integrity regarding his ā€œcausesā€ (usually bad ones in latter years, but sometimes not). His world view is fucked up but he cares a lot about that deficit.

and backing Trump?

Nah, they cannot go together.

For ā€œcrimesā€, but also being carried out by the civil division as immigration related matters are civil issues. This is how they skirt due process and start applying this to anyone who is an inconvenience.

Again, this was hugely telegraphed all through the campaign and with lessons learned from the first term. To anyone who was insistent that the Trump admin was only focused on addressing illegal immigration I say a huge ā€œfuck youā€

The right when pretending to care about antisemitism: ā€œIt is antisemitic to accuse Jews of being primarily loyal to Israelā€

The right the rest of the time:

Also fucking LOL at Harris Faulkner talking about people not being loyal to their own people.

I almost said something similar but pulled back from it. Standing back his political beliefs and actions seem completely all over the place.

I cant trust what he says here. I cant shake the feeling that there’s something in the bill that would hurt his business ventures or ambitions and not about tax breaks or removing Medicaid.

I think it’s more about the deficit growth rather than any concern for the less well off.

And that’s a reasonable concern, but if he honestly believed that his work with D0GE would make a difference, especially under Trump he’s not that smart.

There is a huge range of measures that hammer Musk’s business. It removes EV credits (in fact, adds an EV fee), and also strips away clean energy tax credits that are critical for Tesla’s storage/PV business

This is actually an Obama era joke

During the immigration reform talks during his terms he was prioritizing changes to the laws that created clearer pathways to citizenship and protections especially for the people who were brought here as kids (DACA and the Dreamers). As a trade off he was willing to give them more border security, but they kept asking for more and more disregarding that the border was actually pretty effectively policed. Their insistence on continually doing more made the team joke internally that it wouldnt be long for them to demand moats be dug around the detention centers and be filled with gators.

And now here we are.

This is an interesting partnership considering most of the Trump aligned right think the female orgasm is something made up by feminists to attack men

As in the first term, law enforcement agencies from all over government are diverted away from their actual jobs to go an hunt immigrants.

This immigrant vendetta actually makes us less effective and enforcing our laws.
