Medicare Advantage (Part C) is organized in a way that the insurer pays for services but gets reimbursed by CMS per patient based on the characteristics of their overall patient pool. There are premiums for taking on sicker patients. It seems what is being accused is they used fraudulent medical coding, not because they get directly paid for the services described by the codes, but because that classifies their patients as being sicker than they were and so qualifying for higher premiums.

Watched it with my lad yesterday, before it was everywhere. I’m not a huge South Park fan but I thought it was pretty funny and obviously close to the bone. They did a great job standing their ground to speak truth to power in their own unique way.
It felt almost as if they were inviting Trump to sue them.
Because he is so thin skinned the usual amendment rights are out the window when it comes to free speech, and I think that’s a battle the South Park guys would relish having.

To be honest,I am tired of finding this scary, so I choose to just find the US and Americans, pathetically low brow and braindead instead. Unworthy of respect, yet too powerful to ignore. So in the end, you have to “respect” America the same way you respect powerful decadent empires that you actually truly loath. Respect the power, but hate it. The Soft Power of the US is so fucking gone.

It’s common for poor leaders to confuse fear with respect. Fear will get people to do their bidding once, but it results in resentment and avoidance.
The US still retains some soft power, but the origin of that soft power is under active attack from the MAGA crowd.
It’s very similar to what has happened to the UK over the last 15 years or so.
