Nate Silver is a prick and his online conduct was impacting the brand so I get why Disney felt they needed to cut him. But that doesnt change how much incredible content they as an org put out over the years. Galen’s Gerrymandering project is absolutely vital work, even more so now in what looks to be the post-VRA era, and even that is gone. Beyond the consumer facing stuff though, their data repository was commonly used by most data analysts in the field. Even that is gone. Just an astonishing feat of digital destruction.

For those not using Facebook, the Trump admin. have issued an emergency order to reopen a coal plant in Colorado. The claim is due to grid issues. Colorado has the most stable grid in the US and they’re blaming Biden.
The coal plant was retired at the end 2025 as part of an agreement between the plant owners and Obama to close it when the plant reached 50 years old. It would be replaced by other plants which are now operational.
So Colorado rate payers now have to pay for the recommissioning of a coal plant they don’t need.

Bill Cassidy, GOP senator for Louisiana got lost in the Republican primary last night so will be exiting the senate at the end of this cycle.This is very rare in the senate but shows that despite the fall in popularity, writhing GOP politics it’s still the case that if you cross trump, even as minorly as Cassidy has done, you get punished.
