I would put Szoboszlai at RB. Use this to get some discipline into his game. Kerkez at LB.
Nyoni and MacAllister with Wirtz at ten. Munoz and Rio on the wings and Cody at CF.
Virg, Isak, Grav, Barcola all late subs if required.
This competition might be our season, and this match is another step into playing the way Iraola wants. Theres a break after, another pointless distraction to the work that needs to happen at Liverpool. But it’s also an opportunity to go strong in this match. Win this, use it as a platform to get away from the utter mediocrity served up yesterday.
It looks like the match will be live on ITV4 (Freeview etc) and ITVx (Streaming) in the UK. It’s also “meant” to be on Sky Deutschland/WOW in Germany, if they can be arsed this time.
Totally agree with this. Give Virg a break as we can’t play him in every game again without him breaking down, and because the team needs to learn how to play without him on the pitch.
Yep. Provided Jacquet has the legs. Especially want to see a midfield without Dom - he’s good enough to play in the XI but I don’t think he’s good enough to play in a triangle with Flo at the apex.
Another alternative would be to go 4-3-1-2 with Cody partnering Isak up top and Dom being joined by both Macca and Nyoni behind Wirtz.
