One problem…neither of us can score 4 goals.
At this rate, the bloke is better off retiring and freeing up our wage book.
Hat trick from OG
It feels like one of those years where finishing top 4 and winning the FA or Carabao cup would be a successful season
It was the same last year

Sure, but we do have the squad to do that? To compete on multiple fronts in a congested fixture list?
I don’t think we do at the moment, which is why I’m inclined to agree with @Mascot that it’s better to get knocked out early then get knocked out in three months in a manner which detracts from our other fixtures.
Plus, playing the youngsters is a good idea. It’s a great way to give them pitch time. Why not?
I think we need to create a habit of winning.
Slow news day:
If we are going to go out of this cup then go out tonight and free up some weeks.
Let’s all be a little bit more positive about this match. We need real game time for the team to gel and learn Andoni’s tactics. Plus we need to judge our depth. It will be great for the team to go on a run with the youth team members. Even if we get beaten in the semifinals, that game experience can propel some of the young lads to the next level, when they can be relied upon.
If we field youngsters and second teamers, we will lose. And the whinging will be unbearable.
This presents a chance to continue on a trajectory towards the managers vision of football. The notion of throwing this match is absolute nonsense.
Depends what you mean by youngsters and 2nd teamers. It’s important to use a squad and many of these players are probably going to be needed at some point this season so they need to play sometimes.
I wouldn’t do a complete squad rotation but there are a few who we should certainly see like Trey Nyoni and Lewis Koumas.
I really agree with this. One of the things we need to re-establish is the squad and squad ethos.
I would like to see a more top down, down up unified apporach.
Ideally we have enough 1st teamers to ensure an imprint the “ethos” and explore the depth.
Tsimi’s first half on sat earned him the entire evening off
Frimpong Araujo Gomez Kerkez
Nyoni MacAllister
Koumas McConnell Ngumoha
Gakpo
This?
I don’t think we throw it, but I don’t see anything wrong with mixing in some different players in order to allow Iraola to see how they work together in real competition after a couple of months of training.
Was sort of hoping to see Gravenberch start, because he is playing well below the level we know he can reach, and it is important that Iraola discovers if he can get Grav back to that level in any formation he uses.
Maybe he’s first choice now and being rested tonight ![]()
He’s used to McAllister further forward a couple of times this season, so that’s possible, but I would imagine from a season building perspective you’d want to get Trey and him working together as a combination and then have young McConnell be the one who has to adapt. It’s interesting, but we’ll see.
