Today is the 60th anniversary of the 1966 World Cup Final and just realised that Geoff Hurst is the only survivor of the team that played… Only Held and Overath left from the German XI?
I remember it very well. It was black and white on tv of course but later I went to the cinema to watch it in colour.

It was amazing..there was also a film about the whole tournament called Goal. That was great too. Still worth a watch if you can find it. I rewatched it about 10 years ago. A great piece of social history too.
