Henderson is an interesting one as against us he looked dogshite but for Sheffield United he seemed almost too perfect.
I think I’d play him over Pickford as he has long arms and can catch, his mistakes are the kind goalies will make while Pickford’s are often really random.
This is why I have my reservations about Pope. Just wondering if he might suffer from De Gea syndrome i.e. great in his comfort zone - but that zone isn’t big enough, if that makes sense.
agreed, then Stones in front has a mistake in him…need someone to calm them all down back there. You can have a Pickford or a Stones…can you get away with both?
De Gea is weird one. First season at Utd was poor, then had a few seasons being brilliant, missed out on a move to Madrid, got a new contract at Utd and has been in decline
Pickford
Walker Stones Mings
James Rice Henderson Shaw
Sterling Kane Mount
If Maguire isn’t fit this what I reckon he plays, unless in these couple of friendlies Mings & Stones is tested as a partnership. Mount is an absolute shoe in and would assume he’d want some sort of pacey threat in the team, previous selections suggest he’ll put more faith in Sterling than Rashford or Sancho.
First change options: James, Shaw, Rice, Mount, Sancho, Rashford
Gotta say, I mocked Birmingham for retiring Bellingham’s shirt number when he moved to Dortmund but I’m pretty excited about his potential.
Henderson should be captain though. The way Southgate spoke about him and Kane when discussing the leadership qualities of the group you would think that there shouldn’t even be a debate but Southgate’s a twat at not acting on the blindingly obvious, even when it’s right under his nose.
Maybe that’s the issue. Can’t fucking see past his big hooter.
Trent Stones Maguire Shaw
Hendo Rice Mount
Foden Kane Grealish
Sancho on for Grealish if need some pace. Think England need to move on from the quick winger they usually play, always ends up falling over himself or can’t finish. Foden etc is rapid anyways.
Would even put Grealish in the midfield for Mount as he works very hard
Not a bad game versus the Scots wonder is Gini playing. Robbo should be , man seriously needs a rest though. His body is Begging for an injury after playing every game this season
