“It’s coming home” will be everywhere now

Maybe it is the atmosphere, maybe I am too enthusiastic, but I was incredibly entertained during this game. Back and forth, 2 decent teams (despite Germany being disappointing). But sure, Switzerland vs France was probably more exciting all in all. But I enjoyed this probably more (except the penalty comp, I love those).

Easy next round, it’s coming home.

What an excellent team Southgate has built. Works for each other and just shows truly good team effort. I almost can’t believe it is England !

@Livvy @Neukölln @anon27364116 and @GermanRed @StanSB

I know you all are feeling down. Hang in there okay

Your team played valiantly and worked their socks off, Germany will be back better and stronger in the next tournament.

I will buy you all a round of beer, wine, chocolates to cheer you up. You all are still our Red family and we come together in difficult times.

Germany took a bit more possession in the second half, but that also played nicely into England’s hands. A bit more spaces between Germany’s defence and midfield, Grealish on to gel a few combinations together and then punish Germany’s CB’s.

“Livvy, Neukölln, Cologne-Liverpool, German Red, StanSB, David Hasselhoff, Jurgen Klopp, vi har slått dem alle sammen, vi har slått dem alle sammen. Angela Merkel, can you hear me? Angela Merkel your boys took a hell of a beating! Your boys took a hell of a beating!”

Which is funny, because my primary criticism of Germany today is probably lack of valiant effort. I was disappointed that England was so much more aggressive and won the duels in the second half.
It happened again and again during the second half, aggression was much too lackluster from Germany and I wish they had played a more physical game. Second English goal came after just such lackluster German aggression, where English players jumped on the German midfield and thoroughly defeated it, creating a dangerous transition. Maybe it was the crowd that gave England more energy, but I was certainly disappointed with the lack of physicality and grit from Germany. Had expected that they should be able to fight against the English midfield, but again and again, slightly too slow movements and there were many situations where they waited for the ball to reach them and an aggressive Englishman intercepted.

Sadly, I think so too.

we are obsessed with possession, neglecting the speed some of our players have, then crazy substituitons too late in the face of defeat…

I still get happy and smile a bit every time I watch this

It is so funny how he comments. He was a radio commentator, and his philosophy was to make everything sound exciting (even if it was not always so, haha), so people in Norway used to watch on television, but have sound from the radio so they could hear Bjørge Lillelien !

Err Rio …

Hendo hadn’t played for 3 months it’s probably why Rice and Phillips are playing.

Have you heard his amazing rant about Phil Neal ? It is hilarious and absolutely amazing (and very politically incorrect, lol)

Actual Lillelien clip starts at around 1 min and 38 seconds. Prior to that, they just talk about it on the radio.

Exactly, I don’t think Henderson would last 90 minutes, at the moment.
