Oh for sure, at one point I felt they were unlucky not to score.

Hard fought draw for Scotland, that’ll do. They haven’t lost to England so can go with their heads held high!

Btw why wasn’t Sterling subbed? he was fucking awful, couldn’t beat his own shadow.

The last 10 minutes showed up Southgate small team manager mentality when he decided a point was a good result with him not making any further changes to impact game.

This game showed how bad Southgate is as a manager. Embarrassing really.

Quality wise Robertson is the only player who would be a starter for England. Very few of the other Scotland players would make the England squad.

If you can’t beat them with your starting11 you can bring on 5 quality players (Bellingham, Henderson, Grealish, Sancho, Rashford) to finish them off.

I would add Billy Gilmore, he is amazing. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Is it me or does Souness have the same dentist as Bobby. His gnashers are gleaming white.

Southgate doesn’t know how to change a game tactically. He persisted with two deep sitting midfielders for the whole 90 minutes. It was as if he’d decided from the start, a point was a decent result against a Scotland team who would struggle to stay in the Premier League. A total lack of ambition from Southgate.

Oh yeh, I forgot. Can someone tell me, how the fuck does Luke Shaw get anywhere near that England squad? Remember the outrage from the media when Trent was selected? Shaw isn’t anywhere near his level.

Yes, I would’ve been.

That midfield needs to be more progressive. Phillips is ok against the technical sides with his energy and defensive work, but how he got to 90 in this game only southgate will know. Southgate has him pressing/ pushing up, play Henderson or Jude. Grealish looked best player as soon as he came on, needs to start.

Give Kane 50 minutes next game, and if he looks same, haul him off for dcl. Maybe give Sancho some time if we need a winner and sterling is playing another stinker.

Small team mentality manager thats why. How he can be in charge after only having managed 21s and those powerhouse of football Middlesbrough is the big mystery.

And got them relegated.

Didn’t do anything, lots of hype about nothing in that set up. A player getting so much hype coming on fresh, well I just expected something, he just looked like the others with perhaps a bit more go.

Anyway I’m not complaining it was a good enough result.

:man_shrugging: he isn’t Ronaldinho. He immediately got on the ball, probed Scottish defense, and looked most likely to unlock it as soon as he came on. Other English players were looking for him in attacking situations. Played 20 minutes and probably drew the most fouls for the game (haven’t checked, no idea if correct, just how it feels after watching). Game needed a spark and he was closest to providing it.

My whole life England have been less than the sum of their parts. Generally play turgid stuff, sideways, lots of fear, too cautious.

There are actually some good young players, fast, technical and so on. Send them out to do their thing. They just play within themselves with that England shirt on. It weighs heavy.

Fair play Scotland, and happy for Robbo. Still alive and in with a shout to qualify… although from a Liverpool perspective I want all our boys home ASAP, no injuries, and getting plenty of rest.

Robertson whipped in two great balls, surprised that wasn’t stopped.

I would say Prickford was the best England player.

Assembled a bunch of individuals and put them together and left the best ones on the bench including the only leader of this group Jordan Henderson to face a proper team with no egos sprinkled with a few individual stars they fully deserved their point.
