If Southgate had sent that England team out to play with any ambition it would have been 3-1 or 4-2.

Can only agree with everything that has been said; to no one’s suprise, Southgate bottled it. He has no idea how to properly utilize his roster but even if he did, he is too afraid of his own shadow to actually do it. It’s a shame because this is the best collection of talent that England have had for years. Unfortunately for them, they don’t have a manager of the same calibre.
If anyone deserved to win, that was Scotland.

Well done to Scotland, they more than deserved the point. They wanted it more, showed more drive and passion, and dare I say more invention. I hope they can get a result against Croatia next Tuesday.
As for England, how on earth can anyone think that they are amongst the favourites to win it? Devoid of ideas and almost entirely dependent upon the athleticism of the players, they lack the tactical nouse to make on-field adjustments to outwit their opposition. They might progress to the next stages but I can’t see them doing anything against the real big guns.

We do have talented players, but don’t know how to get the best out of them.
Not sure if it is manager or the players. I mean, we got to the semi-finals in a World Cup in 2018

It’s tournament football, no need to go all out and try win a game like this. I imagine Southgate was playing the game down in changing room, we have bigger games to come and don’t need to be expending huge amounts of mental and physical energy against opponents that are playing the biggest game of their lives. Happy with a draw, would have been a very different game if we and taken one of those early chances, but it doesn’t really matter. Let the Scots celebrate like they’ve won the whole thing, they only have one more game left to play.

This is true the problem is though that I saw Mount running around an incredible lot. He did this in the 1st game apparently. I also feel he’s Englands best ‘selected starter’ (southgates choice). So I believe someone should have a word with Mount you know in the tortoise vs hare line. He’s not doing himself or anyone else any favors.

I really like the England lads in the team, they are young, earnest and I want them to do well. I do like Southgate, i just can’t see us winning much him at the helm.
We do not exactly have a great choice England managers, if Gareth does go after the World Cup.
Look at Spain, they were called the nearly men, now in the last 20 years, they are one of the top world class teams. Portugal have been doing well.
Ok, Germany are not doing great this last couple of years, but they usually get to the semi- finals at least in any international tournament. France have been brilliant the last 20 years. Italy have re-emerged as the one of the major contenders and most of their players play in Serie A.
What are they doing right and what are we doing wrong?

Kane in general epitomises what I do feel about the English national team.
Good in their own way, but so hyped up and absorbed in their own hype, they get complacent. Some are simply undroppable because of their reputation rather than because of their play, and the media is too involved in who gets in the team.
On the other hand, when they’ve been more humble and expectations are lower, they seem to do better.
Either way, I’m rooting for them to go out as soon as possible.

Same old boring crap, Southgate is clueless and afraid to take off Kane earlier and change the midfield, after the first few minutes we sunk to Scotland level and never changed.
