Plus taking Henderson off.

In those moments you want mentally strong players. Daft to take him off.

At least Saka hit the target.

Southgate manages England likes it’s a mid table premier league side. They get a goal against a big side then have no idea what to do.

All these classless wankers immediately taking off their runners up medals.

Twats.

More proof Southgate is too negative.

I think so but lacked experience, thrown in at the deep end. My real sentiment is that national setup isn’t there to progress such young talent that a clubs job.

Hendo has the decency not to take off the silver medal in a millisecond…good man !

Yeah, what the fuck is that about???

Wouldn’t be too quick to pass judgement. Southgate has shown that there is an expected penalty order, and heaven help anyone who goes against this by requesting to take it at a certain time.

Jadon Sancho for example. Diva, spoiled and entitled. Deserves a bit of humbling. I have no idea how anyone has ever rooted for this smug little asshole.

I wish him only the worst.

True, generally holding onto the ball too long, like Sterling and Saka. Not getting Kane involved. I took that as England’s tactics though I could be wrong.

Crazy. Three of the youngest lads in the squad chosen to take pens, one of them subbed in specifically to take one (like that’s ever worked). Saka’s the one though, fuck me. Thrown him right in the deep end there, hasn’t he, while seasoned pros look on. Too clever by half.

I’ve warmed to Southgate over the tournament, but that’s fucking ridiculous. As much as I loathe Pickford, the guy saved two penalties. That’s a platform to win the shoot out.

Southgate puts on Rashford and Sancho, presumably for the shootout and both miss. And then Saka misses the third.

I don’t care how much Saka wanted to take one, Southgate should be stepping in on that. He’s 19. It’s too much. Not just the pressure of the kick, but what’s heading in his direction if it goes wrong (of which Southgate should have an insight) is a lot for his young shoulders to bear.

Teams playing with home field advantage over this weekend for the Cup finals both lost.

Can we all please remember that (soon to be) Sir GS has just taken England to the final of a major tournament for the first time in my lifetime? We were a few kicks from winning it. We also have the great advantage that two United players failed to score. It’s all good.

The goalkeeper is the target?

This is Italy’s second European Championship. They have only won one in 1968. Although they were in the final in 2000 and 2012.

Sterling, Walker and Grealish should have taken the pens.

Hendo is not a good taker.
