Agree but not with everything.
Germany had a good game vs. France and a very good one vs. Portugal. And as a Liverpool fan you should know how difficult it can be against small bus parking teams.
If anything, the English team stinked their way to the knockouts.
Even a neutral has to admit that the games with Germany were more entertaining than Englands.
Doesn’t all matter. The real tournament starts now.

Indeed, all of a sudden it actually looks much better to be on this side of the draw for those two sides. Italy, France, Belgium, Portugal and Spain all now will have to go on exceptional runs to win it.
. I was hoping for an England v Ukraine myself. Exciting matches those.

I would have liked not to play England now, but ok, I hope it will be a big game. Everything is possible because England has not yet found its way into the tournament and has not been that convincing either. I’m looking forward to it, may the better team win.

I think it was in the stars, it was fate/destiny for England to meet Germany. Tonight’s matches could have gone either way. It all depended, who won, who drew and who lost.
I wonder if Southgate is going to add practice penalties in the extra footie sessions.
The media hype is going to build up and up again.

Tbh, I can’t see England winning the next match tbh and I can’t see Germany winning the tournament. However, luck plays a huge part. It will be a good experience for the youngsters.
I am with @Livvy may the best team go through to the next round.
I have a feeling it is Italy’s destiny to win it.
I don’t know @Maria, if England play a really good game they can of course win, anything is possible. The problem will be the English media and the incredible pressure on the team imo.

They put so much pressure on the lads. The good point is, the youngsters like Mount, Grealish and Foden etc were not born when WC 1990 and Euros 1996 happened, so they never grew up with the players from those tournaments stories, like we did.
So, are we all meeting up in the TAN pub on 29th June. 
ETA, one thing I am worried is Boris’s govt getting on the bandwagon using this match and making it political.
Most of them are not really into football, like Dowdon, he is minister of sport.

I actually think England could win that and I’m speaking as someone who isn’t that bothered. Dunno if Germany have impressed me outside of Portugal.
Still quitely confident with my bet of Italy and amazingly my sweep Ukraine made it so I’m still in it until Tuesday.
Whoever wins I’d expect them to make the Semi Finals, Germany have struggled against good defensive units for a while now.
Knowing England they will beat Germany have all the hype then lose to Sweden or Ukraine.

I’m not sure about England if they were playing within themselves and can go through the gears. I’m not sure if Southgate has the management skills to get them to up the intensity and tempo or what we’ve seen is the limit. There is definitely a talented team in them. They are definitely capable of beating Germany. But it depends on Southgate in my opinion.

No disrespect and hate but Netherlands to Germany are a bit like what Everton are to Liverpool - the unsuccessful little brother you can make fun of. A lots of banter. German fans used to chant stuff whenever Holland did not make it to an tournament.
The rivalry to England is on a similar level but a bit more ‘feisty’. Banter because ‚English Goalkeepers have always been shit and England are bad at penalties’
Again no disrespect but Netherlands and England are our favorite big team opponents. Never afraid of them and we know that secretly they are afraid of us.
We feel this secret fear for Italy and Spain for example.
